Northvale Residents - $1.00 (local use) Non-residents - $3.00 Van usage going out of town is $3.00 roundtrip for Northvale & non-residents. To help streamline van usage, we are asking riders to help by following these simple rules: Please call at least 24 hours in advance to make your appointment. (Please do not assume you are automatically on the pick-up schedule). For Doctor and Dentist appointments, please call to see when the van is available and make your medical appointments accordingly. We will do our best to accommodate you and your needs. Please do not make multiple appointments in one day. Plan to be ready for pick-up at least one hour before your scheduled appointment. Times should be scheduled between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please provide us with your Doctor s name, address, suite # and phone number. Shop-Rite trips are Tuesday & Thursday s at 10:00 am. No more than 7 shoppers per trip first-come/first-served. The van services the following towns only: Northvale, Rockleigh, Norwood, Harrington Park, Closter, Old Tappan, and Tappan. The food was delicious which was provided by Butterworth s Bagels in Old Tappan, and an awesome Crème Brulee from Madeleine s Petit Paris. Friends and laughter were in abundance! We are now looking forward to celebrating St. Patrick s Day with a luncheon on Tuesday, March 14 th at 12:00 Noon. If you would like to attend, please signup as soon as possible. This year we are celebrating the Feast of St Joseph. Our trip is on Tuesday, March 21 st to LiGreci s in Staten Island - NY Italian food and entertainment. Don t forget to change your clocks ahead 1 hour on March 12 th. Our April trip is to the Sands Casino on April 20 th. May is the 50 th Anniversary of the Golden Age Club which we will be celebrating on May 10th at Madeleine s Petit Paris. Mark your calendar now for that date. Happy St Patrick s Day to all our Irish members. How to Be Prepared for an Emergency Do you know what vital information to have on hand in the event of a natural disaster or family emergency? When an unexpected situation arises, there s no time to sort through paperwork, no matter how essential it may be. Having everything you need in an organized emergency binder can streamline the process and give you peace of mind. What to Include in an Emergency Binder While there s no shortage of important family documents and household records, a true emergency calls for a few must-haves: Vital records like birth certificates, driver s licenses, Social Security cards, naturalization documents, passports and child custody papers. Insurance policies, including homeowners, renters, auto, life and health. Property records such as real estate deeds, rental agreements, and vehicle titles and registration. Financial documents like wills, trusts, powers-of-attorney and funeral instructions. A family emergency plan with contact information and pre-determined meeting places. Safely Storing Other Important Information Some items, such as account passwords and a backup of critical computer files, aren t suited for a portable binder. Instead, house them in a secure location like a safety deposit box or lockbox. You can also include a home inventory list, contracts, business paperwork, tax returns and investment records. Play it safe and include a recent photograph of every family member, along with fingerprints and dental records. You may also want to store valuable memorabilia, jewelry, and priceless family photos, letters and documents here as well. There s no way to predict when misfortune will strike, but that doesn t mean you shouldn t be prepared. Set aside an afternoon to create an emergency binder that can help protect you when time is of the essence.

As always, your continued support and generosity are very much appreciated! FOOD PANTRY: We have a food pantry collection box where we gather NON-PERISHABLE items that are then distributed to those in need. Feel free to stop in and bring your items. CROCHET: Our Crochet Club is always busy making blankets, hats, scarves, etc. and then they are distributed to various VET Homes, Nursing Homes and babies. If you are able to contribute yarn, the brand used is Caron or Red Heart 4-ply soft, multi-varigated colors. I am in the planning stages of offering some new events and programs to the Center. For starters, on Thursday, April 6 th at 1:00 PM, I will be having an art class. An instructor from Pinot s Palette of Nanuet, NY, will be leading the group step-by-step in painting your very own masterpiece keepsake. All supplies will be provided.
