Why choose Boggo Road Jail? The Jail is not comparable to a local hall, pub or hotel. Many hotels and pubs offer room hire or a discounted event space. They also require minimum spending on food and drinks - usually $ $1500. They do not offer BYO. Halls are another option for many people, however you will be required to pay a bond, organise chairs, tables, cutlery, catering, drinks, tablecloths, cleaning and security. Our Jail Packages include all-inclusive options. You do not have to do anything except turn up and have an unforgettable experience! Other historic venues to consider for your event include Newstead House, Old Museum at Bowen Hills, Customs House, City Hall. Boggo Road is a very reasonably priced historic experience. Boggo Road Jail is a licensed event venue - one of the most unique places in Brisbane to hold your special event, birthday or function. The former prison is heritage-listed and an important historic site, therefore, hirers need to be aware there are special considerations when using the site and to ensure that the Gaol is not damaged in any way. Holding an event here is a truly special and amazing experience. To protect the heritage site, everything is setup every time especially for your event - tables, chairs, bar, and cooking facilities - using licensed caterers - keeping the prison as it was when it officially closed 25 years ago - a time capsule of the past. Boggo will create a lasting memory for your guests as it did for Her (and His) Majesty s guests. The Jail can host events from guests. Your group will be allocated a cell block, gatehouse or the circle based on the number of people and depending on availability. Our fully staffed and licensed on-site bar supplies a wide variety of beer, wine and spirits - at very reasonable prices. If you have a budget in mind, a cash bar or on-consumption bar is available. Events people Exclusive hire of Boggo Road Jail for your event can be arranged for groups of 100 persons or more. Bespoke events - can also be organised for groups of 100 persons or more. Packages are offered at price per person and include event management, security and catering. Preferred space subject to numbers and availability. The Gatehouse pax (indoors) The main point of entry and exit into the prison with it s iconic gates - perfect place to dance,wine & dine. The Circle pax (outdoors) Surround your event with the looming cell blocks in the circle. A perfect place for events from 50 to 200 guests. Cell Block pax (indoors) Hold your birthday or special event indoors in an original Cellblock - for events up to 50 people. Gaol Forecourt pax (outdoors) This large open area in front of the prison provides views of Brisbane s city skyline with the dramatic backdrop of the Jail. Prison Yard pax (outdoors) Spend time in the yards of Boggo. Popular for 40th and 50th Birthdays and cocktail parties. Exclusive Hire pax Exclusive hire of the jail is available for events of 100 or more guests. This includes both indoor and outdoor areas.

Below are the range of tours and merchandise available to add to your special occasion. Guest Speaking $250 per hour Want to learn about Boggo Road Jail from somebody who served time or worked in Boggo Road? Former Prisoners and Officers will share with you their firsthand accounts of what life was like within the walls of one of Australia s most notorious prisons. Managing Director, Jack Sim is also available to speak about local crime and history. Tours or Reenactments Want to really experience Boggo Road? Your group can experience the jail via a group tour. Tours may be accompanied by re-enactments by the Prison Players who bring Boggo back to life. Additional Information / Event Add-Ons Bond A Bond is required for all Bespoke Boggo Road Events ($250 non-commercial hirers / $500 commercial hirers).

14 Additional Information / Event Add-Ons Bond A Bond is required for all Bespoke Boggo Road Events ($250 non-commercial hirers / $500 commercial hirers). Insurance All events require public liability of $20 million coverage. Security Security is required for all events where alcohol is to be consumed. If you are not serving alcohol, security is not required. Security is organised by the Jail Event Coordinator and must be Jail supplied security. Own professional security cannot be arranged. Rates - $99 per hour. 1 x security guard required for every 75 guests. For events of x security guard for every 50 guests is required. Cleaning Fees / Toilets A cleaning fee is charged for all bespoke events. $75 per hour 2 hours minimum. Extra toilets for groups of more than 100 persons must be organised at cost of hirer. Drop off and Set Up Event hire includes a 1 hour drop-offs prior to your event and 1 hour setup prior to the commencement of event. Additional Bump in/ Bump out time may be able to be organised - rates of $145 per hour for additional time. Vehicles may enter the Gaol to drop off equipment, but must vacate the site prior to the start time of the event. Payment 50% deposit is to be made within 5 days of invoice. The full amount is due 2 weeks before the event. Cancellations made within 2 weeks of the event will forfeit the deposit.
