CHÂTEAU BARDOULET, GRAND CRU, 2012 ST.EMILION, BORDEAUX, FRANCE The 2010 vintage offers a lovely purple colour and a powerful, complex, fruity and spicy nose that delights us with prune and gingerbread aromas. On the palate the wine is supple and well-balanced, with beautiful notes of cherry jam. It ends with a long finish. (C) 14% vol Btl BAROLO, POGGIO LE COSTE, 2011/12 ITALY Deep garnet. There are floral notes of dried rose and violets layered over hints of black tea. Elegant tannins and a delicious lingering finish. (D) 13.5% vol Btl CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE, AUGUSTE BESSAC, 2013/14 RHÔNE, FRANCE Châteauneuf has achieved world-favouritism by being as equally spicy and wellflavoured for informal summer eating, as richly warming in winter. This is a charming, easy-drinking style. (C) 13.5% vol Btl CHÂTEAU POTENSAC, 2006 MÉDOC, BORDEAUX, FRANCE Deep ruby hue, notes of sweet cherries, roasted herbs and liquorice with good fruit, structure, purity and freshness. (D) 13% vol Btl BRIO DE CANTENAC BROWN, 2009 MARGAUX, BORDEAUX, FRANCE Notes of violets and blackcurrants on the nose are followed by mulberry, tobacco and earthy cedar characters. A mid weight wine with elegant and refined flavours reflecting those found on the nose. These flavours follow through to a long satisfying finish. 8 TREVOSE FINEST WHITES 8. POUILLY FUMÉ LES ROCHES CUVÉE PRESTIGE, GUY SAGET, 2010/11 LOIRE, FRANCE Fascinating mellow flavours combine in an unusual aged Loire Sauvignon. The enriched style still maintains its ultra-fresh character. An exceptionally calm and cool fine wine. (2) 12.5% vol Btl SAUVIGNON BLANC, CLOUDY BAY, 2014/15 MARLBOROUGH, NEW ZEALAND This iconic wine is reminiscent of fresh fruit salad - full of ripe peach, mango and passionfruit, cut through with a citrus whiplash. Lovely, opulent aromas of grapefruit and peach in a medium bodied style. Loads of fruit on the palate with refreshing citrus acidity. (B) 14% vol Btl ml MERLOT, VILLA ROSAURA, 2015/16 CENTRAL VALLEY, CHILE A deep violet red wine with mature red fruit aromas of plum combined with spiced notes. On the palate, rich, velvety tannins, a medium body and a lasting finish. (C) 13% vol Btl ml PINOTAGE, HUNTERSVILLE, 2014/15 SWARTLAND, SOUTH AFRICA A superb young Pinotage. The flavours of this unique South African cultivar show ripe plum and fruitcake all beautifully integrated and then finished with subtle oak for a lingering aftertaste. The proof is in the wine with its fresh strawberry aroma and open flavours. The effect is of ripe softness. An elegant wine with smooth tannins, a classic from the Gamay grape. It has a relaxed, easy-drinking style with a warm brioche weight to support its fresh appley fruit.
