2 food friends entertainment manager s report Our most important and respected day of the year, Anzac Day, is coming up on Wednesday 25th April. The Club will play an active role in supporting the community on Anzac Day opening for breakfast directly after the Dawn Service, a complimentary morning tea after the main parade and entertainment from Midday with Bill Ryan and Peter Field playing a mix of Australian classics. We hope you will join us to honour our Anzacs. New menu out 3 May Mosaic will also release a brand new menu in May with some enticing new dishes including Potato Waffles, Chinese Roasted Pork, Teriyaki Salmon Kebabs, Lemon & Fennel Risotto and a Winter favourite, Lamb Shanks plus much more. Dear members, Welcome to the Autumn 2018 edition of Club Bulletin. We have a wonderful three month line up to announce including entertainment, promotions, activities and events for our members and guests to enjoy. Easter is with us early this year with Good Friday falling on the 30th March. Good Friday and Christmas Day are the only two days of the year the Club closes its doors for staff to enjoy time with loved ones. Remember, for the remainder of the Easter weekend, we are open from 10am until late for your convenience. We are also open from 10am on Labour Day, Monday 7th May. We have the Easter Bunny making a visit to the Club on Easter Saturday 31st March & Sunday 1st April. Plus free school holiday activities for the kids over the Easter break including Easter craft and a live bunny to pat. Lastly, remember, the Club offers significant value for money with the Kids Eat Free offer running for the entire public school holiday period. Make the most of the savings and bring the whole family out to the Club. Sunday 13th May is Mother s Day and the Club will be opening early at 8am offering a full buffet breakfast at just $20 for members. We also have a delicious 2 course menu on offer for lunch and dinner for just $37 including a main and dessert. Treat your Mum this year and bring her along to enjoy a wonderful meal and enjoy the Club s complimentary entertainment on the lounge bar stage from 5.30pm. The popular Dinner and Show line up has a big drawcard on Friday 16th March with Gold Coast based Matt Hollywood performing his Las Vegas style magician show. The Club is also hosting two very popular tributes with the Bee Gees on Saturday 21st April, followed by ABBA Live on Saturday 19th May. Book early for these dinner and shows as they sell out fast. Executive Chef Matt Smyth received industry recognition once again last month by being announced as one of 5 finalists in QLD in the running for the Clubs Queensland Silver Chef of the Year. A fantastic achievement as this is the second year in a row that Matt has made it to the finals, achieving runner up at last year s awards. We are all supporting Matt in his dedication and excellence. The Club has entered several other awards with announcements to be made at the end of March. Our restaurant and kitchen team have been working on some new flavours. Remember Mosaic Restaurant offers nightly meal promotions and daily $12 lunch specials with new flavours released monthly and specials available daily. We have an exciting line up of promotions starting with Posh Bunny Money where every Sunday members win cash, Moet & Chandon champagne and chocolates plus a chance to share in over $5000 worth of cash and prizes in the major draw on Easter Sunday. Following this the Club will hold its biggest ever promotion where one lucky member will be given the chance to Win a Winnebago motorhome valued at over $111,000. This promotion kicks off after Easter and all you have to do to earn tickets is use your membership card in the Club. Lastly we have a reminder for our Community Grants Funding. Applications close on Saturday 31st March. We have $50,000 in community grants to distribute. Organisations and community groups can apply for up to $5,000. To apply all you need to do is go online to our website and download an application form. Please encourage any group that fits the criteria to apply. The community grants program, along with club sponsorships and donations has been successfully running for many years now. The Club has donated over $3 million towards Nambour s future. 3 over 60 years of giving community news $50,000 in Community grants to be allocated Community Grants now open What: Apply for grants up to $5,000 When: Deadline for submissions close Saturday 31st March How: Visit and go to the community page to download an application form Contact: Any queries contact the administration team on Now in its tenth year, the Club has provided not-for-profit groups and community organisations the chance to secure grants of up to $5,000 each. Submissions are now open for 2018 and the Club is once again proud to announce this vital injection of funds into the Nambour and surrounding region. The annual Community Grants program forms just part of the Club s overall community support program. Successful applicants must meet the grants criteria and be a community based not-for-profit organisation, small community based organisation, community support group, community based sporting organisation or charitable organisation. Submissions close on March 31. HOW DOES YOUR CLUB HELP THE COMMUNITY? $3 million in donations, grant money and sponsorships Annual grants program of $50,000 to community groups Local junior and senior sports club sponsorships resulting in 1,638 children* participating in local sport each and every year! Donations provided to community groups monthly Use of resources and facilities including complimentary hire of marquees for community events. Staff, management and board donate their time to various events and activities to support Nambour s future growth. *Based on junior sport membership numbers provided by all the sporting teams Nambour RSL Club sponsors.
