2 Canteen Menu & Information Safety and Nutrition Ø All volunteers can undergo a Food Safety Handling course. This is a free online course offered by Hobart City Council. Ø Food intolerances, allergies and cultural customs are important in the planning of the Canteen menu. Ø Any enquiries can be made to the Canteen Manager, Alison Sewell Ø All volunteers are required to obtain a Working with Vulnerable Children Check as required by law. Information for this can be obtained from the School Office. Ø We have a great Canteen kitchen which meets all Council Health Requirements. About the Menu Ø The menu may change during the year to accommodate seasons and variety. Ø The Canteen offers a range of freshly prepared and prepackaged foods. Ø Freshly prepared food is prepared on site on Thursday mornings and made to order. How do I order? Ø QKR APP ordering will be available soon! Or Ø Orders must be printed clearly on a brown paper bag with your child s name, class and order from the menu with the money inside the bag. If a bag is not supplied a charge of 10 c will apply. Ø Change will be returned in the same manner. Ø Orders are to be left in your child s classroom on Wednesday morning. Ø Snacks and ice-creams are to be ordered over the counter at lunch time. Ø Food is made to order on Thursday morning and delivered to your child s classroom at lunchtime. Ø No late orders will be accepted due to the requirement of fresh produce Ø DO NOT place sticky tape or staples on bags please it becomes a problem with your child s bags. Volunteers Volunteers run the Canteen on a roster basis. If you are interested in helping out for an hour or more one day a term, please return the volunteer slip and you will be notified of dates and times.

5 HELP WANTED To ensure the canteen can open each fortnight we are asking for volunteers to assist with making and packing lunches on Thursdays (from around 11:00). We will also require at least one volunteer for over the counter sales each fortnight. If you are interested, please fill out the form below and return to the school office, to enable a roster to be drawn up. Ø All volunteers are required to obtain a Working with Vulnerable Children Check as required by law. Ø If you don t have one and need to apply for a Working with Vulnerable Children Check please go online and follow the steps to apply. Once completed take your registration number to your nearest Service Tasmania to submit and pay.
