New retiree column Paintball Info VEB info Hot Shots nd more... Negotiations Some things never change. If you are on the E-Board, you get questioned every shift. How s negotiations going? It has been a few years now and we are still without a contract. There are a lot of rumors out there and it is in the best interest of our local to trust in your elected board members. We have had three meetings and have been trying to come to an agreement and avoid another arbitrator hearing. bove is an insert of our members of the board at the Firefighters Educational Seminar from Sugarman & Susskind. It s time to get involved in a different way. Take the extra hour in the shift to go over equipment or protocols. Help them read and understand their map book. Give them pointers on station duties and pet peeves of the different personalities we all love. They only have a short period of time to impress us. They will be eager to learn and overwhelmed at times, but they will greatly appreciate the little things that we can give that can go a long way. GET INVVED 3

4 S E Q I 1 5 B Retired Firefighters ocal 15 of Pompano Beach Rob Bubba Brantley moved to Pompano Beach in 16 from Fort Worth, TX. He went to Pompano Beach Junior High and Pompano Beach Senior High and graduated in 17. He then got a job with the city of Pompano in 175 with the Recreation Department then Pompano s Public Works in the Building Maintenance Department as an electrician helper. Finally, Bubba was hired as a Firefighter for the ity of Pompano Beach in 178. fter 33 years of service, he retired in He is currently on the Board of Directors for the ity of Pompano Beach redit nion and now working for a marine electrical engineering firm in Fort auderdale. Bubba is an Honorary ifetime Member with our ocal 15. Greetings to all! Especially to all the newly retired. With any luck this will be a bi-monthly column in our ocals newsletter. I will be writing this along with help from David ppleblatt. ur goal will be to inform all of our brothers and sisters that are on the job and retired about all things related to retirement and our Fire Departments history.
