Open all year THE CLOSE GARDEN, HIGH ST, SAFFRON WALDEN A small restored garden with bench seats, adjacent to the passage leading to St Mary s Church from the High Street. The monument to HMS Lapwing, the town s adopted ship during WWII, is sited here. Open all year DORSET HOUSE GARDEN, OFF CHURCH STREET This small garden leads towards St Mary s Church. It contains benches, the WI centenary rose (adjacent to the steps), and a sculpture by a local artist, currently Children of Calais by Ian Wolter.
