It is a restored Victorian Garden with a new Visitor Centre, including an accessible toilet. The hedge maze & the walled garden are only open at specific times so do contact Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre on for details. Parking is nearby at Swan Meadow (CB10 1BX) or at Catons Lane (CB10 2DU) car parks. Open all year THE CLOSE GARDEN, HIGH ST, SAFFRON WALDEN A small restored garden with bench seats, adjacent to the passage leading to St Mary s Church from the High Street. The monument to HMS Lapwing, the town s adopted ship during WWII, is sited here. Open all year DORSET HOUSE GARDEN, OFF CHURCH STREET This small garden leads towards St Mary s Church. It contains benches, the WI centenary rose (adjacent to the steps), and a sculpture by a local artist, currently Children of Calais by Ian Wolter.
