Operation Santa is one way to help local individuals and families have a happy holiday. There still may be ways to help families this year through cash donations or volunteering. As this year begins to end, let me say thank you to our chamber members and to our 2013 board of directors for their service in the chamber throughout the year. Many businesses and organizations demand our time every day and it is truly notable that 33 business men and women make time in their busy schedules to focus on business in Wakulla each and every month through their commitment to the chamber. It has been a pleasure working with Wakulla's business community and I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as president of the chamber this year. "Endings are not bad things, they just mean that something else is about to begin," unknown. While progress has been made in business improvement efforts this year, we are always excited about our incoming board of directors, the new slate of officers and the opportunities each new year holds. Many thanks to our new board members coming in and also to those individuals who have agreed to serve again in 2014 and continue to come together to form a strong voice for the Wakulla County business community. 3 CRAWFORDVILLE S FIRST ZAXBY S HATCHED MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4 New Restaurant Providing Residents Prepared-at-Order Chicken in a Casual Dining Atmosphere Licensee Brooks Haisten opened the doors to Crawfordville s first Zaxby s restaurant Monday, November 4th. The new restaurant is located at 97 Preston Circle, off of the U.S. Highway 318 exit. A Southeast favorite for chicken fingers and wings, this location will operate Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. We ve always wanted to bring a Zaxby s to Crawfordville, said Haisten, who currently owns locations in Alachua, Lake City and Tallahassee, Fla. Zaxby s has built its reputation and loyal following by providing excellent service and great-tasting food, and we plan to carry on that tradition with this new, convenient location. The new 3,847-square-foot location seats 90 in Zaxby s unique design floor-to-ceiling brick walls, modernized tables and booths, all complemented by an eclectic mix of photography. Zaxby s also offers drive-thru services to meet the needs of customers on the go. Haisten believes the restaurant from the atmosphere to the service will exceed community expectations. We ve assembled a great group of team members who will deliver on the Zaxby s mission to consistently create encore experiences that enrich lives one person at a time, said Haisten. State. The new location is the first for Wakulla County, and the 52nd for the Sunshine Zaxby s currently operates more than 590 locations in 13 states Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. An alternative to fast food, Zaxby s offers prepared-at-order chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches and salads. Zaxby s most popular items are its hand-breaded Chicken Fingerz and Traditional or Boneless Wings, smothered in a choice of nine sauces with names like Wimpy, Tongue Torch, Nuclear and Insane. The menu also offers innovative Zappetizers like Tater Chips, Spicy Fried Mushrooms and Fried White Cheddar Bites, as well as a variety of Party Platterz perfect for any family gathering or special occasion. 3 continued

4 Zaxby s also offers four salads, or Zalads: The House, The Blue, The Caesar and its newest addition The Cobb. All of Zaxby s Zalads offer more chicken, unique ingredients, such as French-fried onions, fresh veggies and juicy tomatoes, and are larger than most salads offered elsewhere. Each is prepared with chicken, three kinds of lettuce and a variety of toppings. Zalads are assembled at the time the order is placed, versus being pre-made and stored in a cooler. Additionally, Zaxby s offers a new line of premium milkshakes including the popular Birthday Cake and Banana Pudding Milkshakes and the new Chocolate Cookie Milkshake. They are rich and creamy, hand-blended, and are topped with whipped cream. Panhandle Pizza Despite heavy rain the chamber s Ribbon Cutting Ambassadors showed up in full force Tuesday, November 25, officially welcoming Panhandle Pizza and the recently added dine - in restaurant. Panhandle Pizza was originally started in Destin, FL. The first pizza shop was opened in May of The second Panhandle Pizza was opened in Woodville, Florida in February of The Destin location was closed when the Jeff and Patty Dora moved to Crawfordville. In December of 2011 the Crawfordville location was opened. The Woodville location was sold to an employee. The new dining room features not only hot baked pizza, but a variety of pasta dishes including lasagna, fettuccini, baked ziti, spaghetti, and baked eggplant. Relax and enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine. Sauce, dough and sub buns are made fresh. The take and bake side still offers bake at home pizzas along with great subs and salads.
