2 Latvijas Piens Ltd. Latvijas Piens Ltd. is a cooperative enterprise of Latvian farmers, which aims to produce high quality dairy products sourced in Latvia, promoting the welfare of the Latvian countryside by producing cheese and industrial dairy products. The company s turnover in 2013 reached 37 M euros and it employs around 100 employees, which makes it one of the biggest dairy producers in Latvia. The quality of our production standards and products is certified by ISO and the European Organic product certificate. The company is owned by three cooperatives Trikāta, Dzēse and Latraps. These cooperatives combine more than 600 farmers. The cheese produced by Latvijas piens is presented on the local and worldwide market by our own consumer brand Trikāta. We deliver a wide range of cheeses - starting from mainstream cheese (Tilsiter, Edam) to upper mainstream and premium speciality cheese. Trikata is a cheese market share leader in Latvia and is rapidly growing in export markets thanks to the high-quality cheeses regularly receiving awards in international competitions.

4 The Brand 100 years ago in the town of three cats (Trikata) one of the oldest dairy plants in Latvia was born. It produced butter and cheese for their Manor house. Soon enough dairy products became recognised and even made their way to St. Petersburg in Russia. Today, at the same pastures, our farmers still call their cows by name and in one of the world s greenest countries the Trikata legacy lives on. The cooperative of more than 600 farmers continues to make nuanced and delicious cheese for people that respect authentic origin and quality.

6 Certification ISO Food safety management Latvijas piens has ISO certificate which acknowledges that effective food safety system is in operation at the production plant. The system is being operated and updated within the framework of a structured management system and incorporated into overall management activities of the company. It is aged for 8 months and is the first hard cheese by Trikata. The cheese is mildly sharp and has a walnut aftertaste thanks to the fenugreek seeds.
