Sitting across th aisl was a handsom air forc liutnant who was going hom to minnsota for th holidays. Svntn days latr i took th train back to idaho, and imagin my surpris whn that sam man, Grry, was in th sat nxt to m. (it turnd out th b th Bois car.) W datd on th ski slops and spnt tim with a gang of his fllow officrs and my frinds. W wr marrid in august in a log hous at a mountain survival school in mccall, idaho, whr Grry was th adjutant. howvr, th honymoon ndd whn Grry rcivd ordrs to fifth air forc (which turnd out to b kora). h was gon for a yar, and i wnt back to iowa and livd with my folks. Whn Grry rturnd, h bcam a civilian. W movd to minnapolis, and h wnt to work for a bank. i was a hom conomist for northrn Stats Powr. W movd to alxandria in th lak ara, whr Grry startd working for a brokrag firm, and i startd a tlvision cooking show. n w movd to austin, whr Grry st up a brokrag offic. W adoptd a littl girl, katy, and thoroughly njoyd bing parnts. n, in two and a half yars, w had Bill, mick and libby. our cup runnth ovr! brokrag firm wantd Grry to b Vic Prsidnt in charg of sals for th Wst coast. So w loadd up th station wagon with us, four kids, a dog and a cat and hadd wst. our kids thought thy had found nirvana with a swimming pool in th backyard. W sttld in South Pasadna, a frindly, family town, and our kids bcam involvd in many sports. i arnd a taching crdntial at cal Stat la. along th way, w ndd up adopting our oldst daughtr s childrn, hathr (3) and christophr (6 wks). it was a lot mor fun than w xpctd! i rtird from taching but did a bit of substitut taching. aftr 26 yars in that wondrful hom, our kids thought it would b nic to by a littl winry on th back road in Tmcula, a small town north of San digo. it soundd lik fun, so w advic from grry Gosh, 60 yars is a long tim!
