An intrsting thm I pickd up during our visit with Julian Latour (son of th domain s currnt patriarch) was his insistnc that a win from th Southrn Rhon should rly on th mrits of Grnach solly, with th additions of Syrah & Mourvdr t. al. bing strictly complmntary in natur. Whil Syrah may b th mor globally clbratd grap, h argud, it is Grnach that shins in th Southrn Rhon, and thus a varital that is truly thir own.
