5 ALSACE August 05, 2012 Date & place of tasting in italics Growers / Wineries are in alphabetical order with area underneath Jean-Baptiste Adam Ammerschwihr Riesling Réserve Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2013 There is a lovely freshness on the nose lime and apple with herbal leafiness. The palate feels richer slightly sweeter but the freshness the mix of citrus and apple gives a racy feel on the finish. Riesling Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes Kaefferkopf Tasted in Lincoln s Inn February 2017 A mix of citrus fruits the nose is fresh the start of the palate bright. Richer and sweeter in the middle grapefruit and a hint of white peach depth at the back with fresh fruits giving brightness on the long finish. Gewürztraminer Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2013 The nose appears quite light fresh and fragrant but slightly lacking in spice. There is more weight of fruit on the palate some sweet flavours with towards the back and on the finish a perfumed spiciness. Domaine Agape Riquewihr Riesling Grand Cru Schoenbourg Tasted in Lincoln s Inn February 2017 Herbal and spicy the fruit is fresh the nose bright. 6 August 05, 2012 ALSACE Bestheim Westhalten Sweet Gewürztraminer 2008 Vendange Tardive Tasted in Restaurant Terminus Nord Paris July 2011 The peachy apricot mix on the nose is backed by perfumed spicy fragrances but it is quite light and the palate lacks real depth and richness of flavour. The sweetness of the late picking gives more flesh on the back palate all slightly spoilt by an earthiness. Jean Biecher & Fils Saint-Hippolyte Riesling Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2013 The nose is remarkably sweet and the start of the palate is quite fleshy. There is a fresher feel on the mid palate but ripe fruit fills out the back palate with the finish sweet fruited and lacking in freshness. Pinot Gris Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2013 Both nose and palate are fresh citrus fruited with sweeter fruit giving more depth on the mid palate. Towards the back minerals and lime refresh but the finish is light just lacking in real character. Domaine Bott-Geyl Beblenheim Riesling les Eléments Tasted at the O W Loeb tasting September 2011 The nose is very firm with rather hard green herbal fruits. 7 ALSACE August 05, 2012 Apricot tends to dominate rich and ripe and this gives a fleshy start to the palate. There are fresh fruits in the middle some apple but the richness of the fruit mix is there at the back giving a powerful finish. Pinot Gris les Eléments Tasted at the O W Loeb tasting September 2011 The mix of tropical fruits on the nose is quite sweet and this gives some richness on the palate. Behind the sweeter fruit there are fresher flavours with a touch of mineral but towards the back tropical fruit shows through giving more weight on the finish. Pinot Gris les Eléments Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2013 The sweetness of the fruit gives a fleshy richness on the nose lots of yellow peach and apricot. Behind the sweetness mineral and citrus refresh and although this helps to balance the finish has all the fleshiness of sweet fruit. Pinot Gris les Eléments Tasted at Innholders September 2014 The nose is full the start of the palate fat with lots of yellow peach. Under the sweet fruit there are hints of citrus some freshness but the finish is rich with lots of sweet ripe fruit. Riesling Grafenreben Tasted at the O W Loeb tasting September 2011 There is a lot of rich fruit on the nose greengage dominating. The palate has depth of flavour lots of fruit but towards the back citrus and apple take over giving the finish freshness and bringing out the herbal flavours. Riesling Grand Cru Schoenenbourg Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2013 The fruit on the nose is fresh with an attractive mix of fragrances. The palate has the richness of ripe fruit ripe peach and tropical fruits but it feels fresher towards the back and on the finish. Gewürztraminer Cuvée Jules Geyl Tasted at the O W Loeb tasting September 2011 The nose, although showing some spicy perfume, is very light and the palate starts without any great richness of flavour. There is sweeter fruit in the middle more spice and perfume showing but the back palate is lacking in real character. 8 August 05, 2012 ALSACE Pinot Gris Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2013 The mix of tropical fruits on the nose is rich and ripe and the palate starts with the same weight of fleshy fruit. Under the sweetness there is the balancing freshness of apple and grapefruit. Layers of flavour add to the interest lots of slate a lovely length of flavour. Pinot Gris Tasted at Innholders September 2014 The nose is fresh with slate and mineral and the start of the palate has citric freshness. There is more depth in the middle lovely rich flavours complex with layers of fruit. Although the back palate is rich the finish is racier with fresh fruited brightness. Pinot Gris Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2015 The fruit on the nose is sweet the palate starts with depth of flavour. Lighter in the middle the tropical fruit richness backed by a citrus mix the finish lighter and fragrant. Gewürztraminer Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2013 Exotic perfumes with a hint of spice feature on the nose underpinned by sweet fruit. The mid palate has depth of flavour with the richness of white peach yet the finish is lighter just slightly lacking some of the oriental spices. Hugel et Fils Riquewihr Classic Gentil Tasted at Leathersellers November 2012 Tasted at the Fells tasting September 2013 The nose is fresh but the palate richer deeper a touch forest leaf. The richness is balanced by lime and grapefruit that show towards the back and bring out a racy herbal spiciness. The complexity comes from the mix of grapes in the blend. Riesling Classic Tasted at the Fells tasting September 2013 The nose has a mineral and citrus crispness and the start of the palate is light and fresh fruited. The mid palate has more of a tropical fruit mix giving a little more depth but it finishes with crunchy apple. Riesling Classic Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 8

9 ALSACE August 05, 2012 Tasted at the Carlton Club January 2014 The nose is light fresh fruited and the palate has lots of mineral and citrus. There is some sweet fruit in the middle a hint of tropical fruit but the freshness the crisp gooseberry is there at the back and it just lacks a bit of complexity. Riesling Tradition Tasted at the Fells tasting September 2013 The fruit is ripe the palate has some depth with tropical fruits all nicely balanced by freshness lots of lime and lemon on the back palate and finish. Riesling Tradition Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2015 The nose is light and fresh very citrus driven and the start of the palate light and flinty. Sweeter in the middle the richer fruit underpinned by gooseberry and citrus the finish light and quite firm. Estate Riesling Tasted in Lincoln s Inn February 2017 The nose has fragrance and brightness the palate is quite light with herbal citrus apple freshness. A hint of mid sweetness fresh fruits show at the back and it finishes with a nice length of flavour. Riesling Cuvée des Eveques Tasted in the Carlton Club June 2016 The nose is firm bright but quite tight and the start of the palate has mineral freshness. Light in the middle but there is a hint of sweetness at the back the finish though lean and slightly short. Pinot Blanc Cuvée des Eveques Tasted in the Mansion House July 2017 The nose has breadth of favour the palate starts with melon richness. There is an underpinning freshness a mineral backbone but it fills out at the back with the richness of ripe greengage. Jubilee Pinot Gris Tasted in Lincoln s Inn January 2016 Firm and tight there is not a lot of fruit showing on the nose and the start of the palate lacks a bit of character. Flinty freshness in the middle and although it is slightly sweeter at the back the finish is fresh and light. Gewürztraminer Tasted at Mercers Hall November 2012 There is a floral charm about the nose perfumed fragrant but not over spiced. 10 August 05, 2012 ALSACE Gewürztraminer Classic Tasted in the Carlton Club June 2016 There is a lack of fragrance and a lack of perfume the palate fresh and light a lack of real character. The finish is fresh light and lacks perfume and spice. Jubilee Gewürztraminer Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2015 The nose is light fragrant with spring flowers and perfumed spices and the start of the palate quite fresh just lacking bit of mid heart. Slightly richer at the back but it finishes light, fresh and spicy. Jubileee Gewürztraminer Tasted in Lincoln s Inn January 2016 The nose does not have a lot of fruit hints of spice but a lack of real fragrance. Fresh in the middle citrusy bright and although there is more spice and perfume at the back the finish is lacking character. Estate Gewürztraminer Tasted in Lincoln s Inn February 2017 The fragrances on the nose are quite discreet perfumed with a touch of spice. Fresh fruits in the middle are backed by hints of sweetness a richer feel at the back but apple and lime are there on the finish bringing out oriental perfumes. Gewürztraminer Cuvée des Eveques Tasted at the Carlton Club November 2012 The nose is intense with rich flavours and sweet perfume. Peach and tropical fruits enrich the palate the depth of fruit balanced to some extent by a touch of citrus. The finish is pungent with heady perfumes yet lacking in floral fragrances. Gewürztraminer Cuvée des Eveques Tasted in Mercers Hall March 2016 Tasted in the Carlton Club June 2016 The fragrances on the nose are light just a hint of spicy perfume the start of the palate fresh. It feels slightly richer in the middle but the back palate is firm and lacks spicy and fragrance. Sweet Gewürztraminer Vendange Tardive Tasted at the Fells tasting September 2013 The nose has spiciness very fragrant and perfumed but the palate is rich ripe fruited apricot and yellow peach. The freshness towards the back lightens but the finish is deep sweet with lovely ripe flavours. Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 10

11 ALSACE August 05, 2012 Cave de Hunawihr Hunawihr Riesling Grand Cru Rosacker Tasted in Lincoln s Inn February 2017 The nose has depth of flavour the start of the palate is rich with fleshy greengage. Apple and citrus brighten the mid palate the fruit at the back herbal and fresh the finish has a touch of flint. Gewürztraminer Réserve Tasted in Lincoln s Inn February 2017 The nose has a fragrant charm perfumed but discreet the start of the palate is light with a mix of citrus fruits. A hint of sweetness in the middle slightly richer at the back but the finish is light perfumed a trace of oriental perfume. Domaine Josmeyer Wintzenheim Riesling Le Kottabe Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2013 The nose has a lovely bitter sweetness crisp apple with sweet peach and pineapple. There are layers of flavour fresh slightly herbal fruits backed by richer sweeter flavours with the freshness towards the back giving a lighter feel to the finish. Riesling Le Kottabe Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2015 Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2016 There is a lot happening on the nose a whiff of diesel, floral with a mix of rich fruits. Peachy on the start of the palate the sweet ripe fruit backed by citrus freshness with a nice depth of fruit on the finish. Riesling Le Kottabe Tasted in Mercers Hall November 2017 The fruit on the nose is quite sweet the palate starts with depth of flavour. Lighter in the middle some underlying citrus the finish has a mix of peachy richness and freshness fair length. 12 August 05, 2012 ALSACE Tasted at the Carlton Club October The nose has the richness of pineapple and this weight of fruit fills out the mid palate. Under the richness there is a lovely crisp mineral freshness with underlying limes and apples. There is fruit power and richness on the back palate that fills out the finish. Pinot Gris 1854 Fondation Tasted at Lincoln s Inn November 2013 The fruit on the nose is herbal and spicy lots of floral flavours. The mid palate is full of fruit apricots peaches a lovely depth of flavour but behind the richness there is apple that refreshes and together with a touch of flint gives a racier feel to the finish. Pinot Gris Le Fromenteau Tasted at the Mansion House July 2013 Tasted at Innholders September 2014 Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2015 Rich and ripe the nose is packed with peach and apricot and this sweet fruit gives richness on the start of the palate. Lime and grapefruit refresh the middle but is the ripe fruit the sweetness that gives a rich feel to the finish. Pinot Gris Le Fromenteau Tasted in Lincoln s Inn January 2016 The nose is bright the start of the palate light with flinty freshness. There is peach and tropical fruit richness on the mid palate more depth of flavour but the citrus and apple at the back refresh and lighten. Gewürztraminer Les Folastries Tasted at Mercers Hall November 2012 Tasted at Lincoln s Inn April 2013 The nose is rich sweet fruit with perfume and spice. Ripe apricot gives a fleshy sweetness on the mid palate and the richness fills out the back palate. The finish feels fresher with heady perfume and spice. Gewürztraminer Les Folastries Tasted in Lincoln s Inn January 2016 Tasted in Mercers Hall March 2016 Tasted in Mercers Hall May Perfumed spicy the nose has an oriental feel the palate starts light with a mix of spices. The fruit in the middle feels ripe depth at the back but it finishes fresh and lacking a little richness. Fresh fruit at the back brings out the perfumes the spiciness with the flavours lingering on the finish. Gewürztraminer Les Folastries Tasted in Lincoln s Inn February 2017 The fruit is fresh the nose has fragrance light delicate perfumes the start of the palate bright with apple freshness. There is a hint of sweetness on the mid palate with fresh fruits showing at the back the finish is light with a trace of perfume. Gewürztraminer Grand Cru Hengst Tasted at Lincoln s Inn November 2011 The fruit on both nose and palate is sweet and rich with overlaying spicy perfumes a lovely exotic character. The ripe fruit lots of tropical fruits fills out the mid palate but under the richness there is apple freshness which brings out and enhanced the perfumed spiciness that shows on the finish. Sweet Gewürztraminer Grand Cru Hengst Vendange Tardive Tasted at the Carlton Club October 2013 The nose has lots of fragrance spice heady perfumes sweet fruited. Ripe fruit give depth and richness on the palate the mid palate sweet and lush but towards the back there are some fresh fruits that give a slightly lighter feel on the back palate the finish though is rich spicy and sweet. Domaine Kientzler Ribeauville Pinot Blanc Tasted in the Royal College of Physicians February 2018 Fresh and fragrant the nose has a mix of spring flowers the start of the palate quite light. Depth of flavour in the middle ripe pear backed by greengage the richness balanced by cut apple lighter and fresher at the back but it finishes with a rich mix of fruits. 14 August 05, 2012 ALSACE Tasted in Mercers Hall November 2017 The nose is bright fresh citrusy mineral the palate has depth of flavour tropical fruits a touch of white peach. Layers of interest there is complexity sweet fruit at the back but lighter fresher on the finish. Riesling Muenchberg Grand Cru Tasted in Lincoln s Inn February 2017 Fragrant fresh the nose has a citrus mix the palate starts light and fresh. Sweetness in the middle tropical fruits a hint of white peach and whilst there is depth at the back the finish has a racy citrus freshness. Pinot Gris Zellberg Tasted in Lincoln s Inn January 2016 Peachy richness on the nose the start of the palate has depth and sweetness. There is freshness at the back slate and mineral yet the finish has the richness and depth of ripe fruit. Pinot Gris Zellberg Tasted in Innholders Hall February 2016 Smoky the nose is fragrant and fresh the palate lean with slate and mineral. Light and bright at the start of the palate but the mid palate has peachy richness depth of fruit the back palate though lighter more of a tropical fruit character. Gewürztraminer d Epfig Tasted in Lincoln s Inn January 2016 Tasted in Mercers Hall March 2016 Fresh fruit the nose has exotic oriental perfumes and fragrances the palate is spicy complex freshness yet mid sweetness layers of peach and citrus. Depth of fruit at the back the finish is spicy perfumed with fragrances that linger. Gewürztraminer d Epfig Tasted in Lincoln s Inn February 2017 Upfront on the nose a mix of oriental perfumes and spices. The palate has the richness of sweet fruit depth at the back but it finishes lighter fresher perfumed and spicy. 15 ALSACE August 05, 2012 The nose is sweet the palate though starts fresh citrusy and green apple. Quite lean and racy in the middle but it does fill out at the back with some ripe tropical fruits on the finish. Pinot Gris Hagel Tasted at Innholders September 2014 Fresh on the nose the start of the palate is mineral driven but underneath the freshness the fruit is sweet the mid palate rich. Slate and citrus refresh the back palate the finish long lean directional with just a hint of spice. Pinot Gris Hagel Tasted in Innholders Hall February 2016 Depth on the nose the palate is broad expansive with a mid peachy richness. Tighter at the back a mineral and slate mix the finish is bright fragrant fresh and long. Rolly-Gassmann Rorschwihr Muscat d Alsace Tasted at Eton College January 2012 The colour is rich yellow giving a guide to maturity but both nose and the start of the palate are remarkably fresh. The mid palate is sweeter lots of rich pineapple flavours but there is an underlying freshness that brings out the fragrances and the hint of spice on the finish. Riesling Tasted in Innholders Hall February 2016 Tasted in the Carlton Club June 2016 Floral and fragrant the nose seems quite light the palate though has richness and depth ripe melon a hint of peach. Fresh at the back slightly lighter but it fills out on the finish with depth of flavour. There is mid spice with an underlying freshness bringing out the fragrances and the finish has length with heady oriental perfume. Sweet Pinot Gris Rotleibel Vendanges Tardives Tasted at Berry Bros January 2013 The mix of greengage and orange peel is quite sweet giving richness on the nose and the start of the palate. The mid palate is very fresh lots of lime and grapefruit but it fills out towards the back with apricot, pear and orange peel. The finish though is lively and fresh fruited. Gewürztraminer Vendanges Tardives Tasted in Lincoln s Inn January 2016 Apricot and peach the nose is sweet the fruit backed by oriental fragrances. Depth of fruit on the mid palate fleshy richness spice candied peel. There is freshness a hint of citrus great balance the back palate bright the finish though richer and sweet. Cellier Saint Jacques Domaine Viticole de la Ville de Colmar Colmar Riesling Tasted at the Royal College of Physicians London July 2011 The nose is fresh with an attractive herbal spiciness but the palate is slightly sweeter with a touch of tropical fruit. The fruit feels ripe giving some weight towards the back but the finish is like the nose fragrant and fresh with flavours that linger. Riesling Tasted at Edward Parker Wines Norfolk August 2011 There are some powerful fruit flavours on the nose and the greengage that features on the palate is backed by herbal leafiness. The fruit is sweet quite rich but there is enough freshness to balance. Pinot Gris Tasted at the Royal College of Physicians London July 2011 The richness of the fruit fills out the nose and although feeling ripe there is freshness behind. The palate has an attractive mix of flavours tropical fruits and fresher apple. The back palate is smoky, spicy yet sweet fruited. Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 16

17 ALSACE August 05, 2012 Pinot Gris Tasted at Edward Parker Wines Norfolk August 2011 Rich ripe tropical fruits fill out the nose and give a sweet start to the palate. Underpinning the peach and orange peel on the mid palate is mineral slate freshness that balances and lifts the fruit on the back palate. Gewürztraminer Tasted at Mercers Hall October 2012 The nose is floral perfumed with oriental spices. The palate has sweet fruit quite rich at the start but the sweetness nicely balanced by freshness. Although the back palate and finish has lots of perfumed fragrances spies it is not over exaggerated and is quite light on the finish. Gewürztraminer Tasted at the Royal College of Physicians London July 2011 The nose has rose petal fragrances lovely exotic perfumes a lovely complex mix. The fruit is sweet the mid palate quite lush and exotic but there is freshness underpinning balancing and bringing out the perfume fragrances that are there on the finish. Julien Schaal Saint Hippolyte Riesling Grand Cru Les Roches Calcaires Rosacker Tasted in Innholders Hall February 2016 The nose is light fragrant but lacking fruit the palate is fresh mineral with high mid acidity. Lean and flinty at the back there is slightly more depth on the finish. Charles Schléret Turckheim Pinot Gris Cuvée Rèserve Tasted at the Mansion House July 2011 Tasted at the Yapp tasting Hardy s Restaurant April 2015 The fruit on the nose is rich and feels ripe giving it a sweet feel. The richness of the nose is very much in evidence on the palate with the mix of mango, pineapple and apricot having a honeyed sweetness. 18 August 05, 2012 ALSACE Riesling Cuvée Rèserve Tasted in London at the Yapp Brothers Tasting Tropical fruit richness fills out the nose and gives depth of flavour on the palate. The peach and tropical fruit is refreshed by lime in the middle but towards the back it fills out giving a powerful rich finish. Gewürztraminer Tasted in Lincoln s Inn February 2017 Rich fruit on the nose hints of maturity the palate has apricot and tropical fruits backed by spicy oriental flavours. Lighter at the back spicy but showing lots of maturity Maison Trimbach Ribeauvillé Riesling Reserve Tasted in Lilley October 2013 The nose is still fresh with an attractive citrus mix a touch of tangerine and a hint of petrol. The palate has depth of flavour richness apricots and peaches with towards the back hints of hazel nuts a whiff of petrol all adding to the complexity. The finish is lean long and mineral driven. Riesling Réserve Tasted at the Carlton Club January 2013 This classic Alsatian Riesling has fresh fruit on the nose with an attractive mix of lime and grapefruit and although the palate starts fresh the mid palate is richer with some nice sweet fruit. It is lighter towards the back with a lovely mineral freshness on the finish. The mix of fruits goes well with prawns and shrimps yet they stand up well to stronger flavoured fish such as salmon. Riesling Réserve Tasted at the Distillers Dinner Vintners Hall November 2015 The nose has citric freshness the palate sweeter with a mix of tropical fruits quite peachy at the back. The freshness the grapefruit and lime come through on the finish. Riesling Réserve Tasted in the Carlton Club June 2016 Bright and steely fresh on the nose the palate has a mix of citrus fruits layers of flavour. It is lighter at the back citrus and apple the finish is bright with quite high acidity lint and mineral Pinot Gris Réserve Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 18

The mix of flavours gives some complexity with the citrus refreshing the back palate and balancing the richer fruit. Gewürztraminer Tasted at the Carlton Club November 2012 The nose is fat full slightly earthy with heavy perfumes and a lack of freshness. The palate is like the nose very full lacking in mid freshness and although there is a touch of citrus at the back it finishes heavy and earthy. Red Wines Pinot Noir Réserve Tasted at the Carlton Club September 2013 The nose is light fresh with red fruits and the palate starts very fresh. There is a richer feel in the middle more fleshy mulberry with some sweet fruit giving depth at the back but the finish has raspberry freshness. Cave de Turckheim Turckheim Riesling Réserve Tasted at the Carlton Club September 2015 Fresh fragrant white flowers the nose has lots of charm the start of the palate is quite light and fresh. Sweeter in the middle hints of tropical fruits the back palate has depth the finish though bright with apple freshness. Riesling Réserve Tasted at the Carlton Club November 2016 The nose is fresh with white flowers and citrus but the palate has rich ripe tropical fruits fleshy in the middle. Although fresher at the back the finish has the sweetness of ripe fruit. Riesling Réserve Tasted at the Carlton Club September 2017 The fruit on the nose is fresh quite herbal and the start of the palate bright with crisp apples. Layers of flavour lots of complexity the sweetness underpinned by tangerine freshness the flavours lingering on the long finish. Domaine Weinbach Kayersberg Pinot Blanc Tasted at the J & B tasting IOD January 2003 There is not much flavour on either the nose or the palate and the mid palate is quite firm. Slightly richer at the back but the finish is lacking in depth. Muscat Tasted at the J & B tasting IOD January 2003 Scented eastern fragrances there is a lot happening on the nose and the palate has fruity richness. Lighter at the back the finish is long and perfumed. Riesling Cuvée Théo Tasted at the J & B tasting IOD January 2003 Steely on the nose the palate is quite firm at the start. Sweeter in the middle but there is a strong citrus character at the back that brings out the fragrances. Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg Tasted at the J & B tasting IOD January 2003 The nose has depth the palate rich fruit tropical fruits a hint of white peach. The back palate is lighter steely flinty with a racy freshness on the finish. Tropical fruits are underpinned by fresher citrus flavours layers of complexity the sweet fruit is there at the back enriching but the finish has slate and mineral freshness. There is a hint of spice on the back palate with a fresher feel to the finish. Paul & Philippe Zinck Eguisheim Pinot Blanc Tasted at Lincoln s Inn September 2012 Rich tropical fruits fill out the nose and give depth of flavour on the palate. The depth of flavour ripe fruit has an underlying freshness a touch of citrus and apple and this refreshes but the fruit richness is there at the back filling out the finish. Portrait Pinot Blanc Tasted at Lincoln s Inn February 2014 The nose is fresh the palate citrusy quite light but has a mix of fragrances. The sweeter fruit in the middle gives way to freshness at the back. Easy and please but just lacks a bit of depth. Gewürztraminer Tasted at Mercers Hall November 2012 The fruit on the nose is ripe filling it out all a bit heavy. Ripe peach and apricot are there on the palate the fleshy sweetness slightly lacking the underlying freshness to balance. There are perfumes and spices at the back all a bit heady and heavy. Zind Humbrecht Turckheim Riesling Calcaire Lime bright on the nose the palate starts richer with a mix of tropical fruits. Flinty and mineral in the middle the finish is lean, racy and herbal. Light and bright at the back mineral and slate length of fruit fragrant and herbal on the finish. Riesling Clos Windsbuhl The nose is herbal fresh limes and lemon fragrant and flinty. The start of the palate is lean mineral taut at the back the finish herbal with slate mineral freshness. Riesling Rangen de Thann Saint Urbain Grand Cru Lean taut the palate has a racy mineral flintiness the nose bright fresh citrusy. A hint of sweetness in the middle the back palate is streamlined with flint and shale lean with fragrances that linger. Pinot Gris Turckheim Slate mineral the nose is bright the start of the palate firm tight at the start. Grapefruit and lime under the flint fresh bright the back palate stony flinty and mineral bright and long. Pinot Gris Rotenberg The fruit on the nose is quite sweet the palate starts with tropical fruit richness. The mid palate is bright and lean with shale and mineral the fruit at the back citrus fresh and it finishes lean and long flint and mineral. 24 August 05, 2012 ALSACE Pinot Blanc Depth on the nose the palate has a peachy apricot richness. Bright and fresh at the back crisp apple but it finishes with sweetness and has depth on the finish. Zind Chardonnay Auxerrois The nose is bright the palate fresh at the start with apple and lime. There is mid richness a greater depth of fruit some ripe greengage but citrus is very much in evidence at the back the finish lighter and fresh. Muscat Goldert Grand Cru Spicy white flowered the nose has an oriental quality the start of the palate fragrant. A hint of sweetness in the middle but at the back there is freshness a touch of citrus the finish is light with spicy excitement. Gewürztraminer Tasted in Mercers Hall March 2016 Orange peel spice the nose is light fresh but fragrant the palate flinty and mineral. There is a hint of mid sweetness with bright lime and mineral at the back and a hint of oriental perfume on the finish. Gewürztraminer Turckheim Oriental spiciness the nose has a mix of perfumes the start of the palate light bright and fresh. There is mid richness the sweet fruit underpinned by flint the finish long fresh and streamlined. Gewürztraminer Calcaire The nose has a mix of fragrances perfumed and spicy the palate starts with sweetness a spicy charm. Leaner at the back perfumed fragrant hints of the east with fresh fruit a citrus mix on the finish. Leaner in the middle citrus freshness with flint and mineral at the back lean and taut the finish has oriental mix of fragrances. Gewürztraminer Rangen de Thann Clos Saint Urban Grand Cru Depth on the nose the tropical fruit mix is sweet and ripe the start of the palate has depth. Oriental spice and perfume in the middle the sweetness balanced by lime and flinty mineral freshness but it has sweetness rich ripe perfumed fruit on the finish. Sweet Pinot Gris Clos Jebsal Vendange Tardive Slate freshness the nose has a mix of oriental fragrances the start of the palate bright. Sweet fruit in the middle depth of flavour the sweet fruit has a perfumed spiciness with at the back a lovely balance between sweetness and freshness the ripe fruit lingering on the finish. Pinot Gris Clos Windsbuhl Selections de Grains Nobles Dried fruits apricots the start of the palate is rich and ripe. There is mid freshness slate and mineral complexity and balance and although voluptuous lush sweet and ripe at the back the finish is lighter bright mineral and long.
