7 BURGUNDY 2013 October 11, 2012 Burgundy 2013 Domaines A - E Date & place of tasting in italics Growers / Wineries are in alphabetical order A year that was very tough on the growers. The beginning of the year was intensely cold with temperatures around O degrees Centigrade for most of January & February. Rainy weather at the beginning of the year continued into March and April often 60+ % above seasonal averages. The vines were slow to start their growth with some bleeding in April. Bud break was delayed the growth further hampered by a cool wet May so development was some days behind a normal year. The beginning of June saw some fine weather with more normal temperatures new leaves opening and first flowers in mid June. The flowering progressed well until 20 th June when cool and damp conditions hampered flowering and caused some coulure & millerandage. These unfavourable conditions were present in both Chablis and the south of Burgundy. The weather improved in July with sun and periods of above average temperature ensuring a rapid evolution. Berries and bunches were completely formed by mid July yet even so things were still about 10 days behind a normal year. On the 23 rd of July disaster struck again with a violent hail storm covering some 1,400 hectares in the Côte de Beaune. Veraison (the changing of berry colour) started about 10 th August and progressed slowly even though there was sufficient sunshine. The grapes ripened under good conditions with the harvest in the Côte de Beaune starting on 30 th September, in the Côte de Nuits a day or so later and in Chablis on the 5 th October. Quantity is down due to problems at flowering time and hail but quality looks good due to meticulous sorting. 8 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2013 There is lots of ripe fruit on the nose and the palate is melon and greengage rich. Under the sweetness apple and lime refresh the back palate lighter but the finish has richness a nice depth of flavour. Montagny 1er Cru Sélection Vieilles Vignes Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting October 2014 Rich on the nose and full and quite fat and fleshy on the palate the depth and richness are balanced by citrus and apple. There are layers of flavour the feel of complexity with the freshness that shows at the back giving a lighter feel on the finish. Montagny 1er Cru Les Vignes Derrière Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting October 2014 The fruit feels ripe a rich mix of flavours lots of fleshy greengage and melon. The sweetness the depth on the mid palate is underpinned by fresher fruit some citrus and some apple and although lighter and fresher at the back the finish has sweet fruit depth. Montagny 1er Cru Les Maroques Tasted in the Mansion House July 2017 The nose is light fragrant and fresh the palate has crisp apple some lime and although richer and sweeter at the back the finish is firm and fresh. Domaine de L Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Le Petits Plets The nose has depth of fruit and on the palate the black fruited mix is ripe and sweet. Rich in the middle slightly fresher and lighter at the back but the finish has lots of powerful fruit richness and depth. Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Fôrets St Georges Black fruits dominate the nose deep the start of the palate is rich ripe and fleshy. There are layers of flavour the ripeness of the fruit giving fleshy richness and although there is a balancing freshness the finish has black fruited richness. 9 BURGUNDY 2013 October 11, 2012 Volnay The nose is sweet the start of the palate rich with ripe mulberry. Black fruits come through on the mid palate but at the back raspberry and redcurrant give freshness the finish quite light with flavours that linger. Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epéneaux Rich and sweet on the nose the palate has depth of flavour richness supple tannins. The richness on the mid palate is underpinned by fresh red fruit and although slightly lighter at the back the finish has depth a lot of rich flavours. Domaine Robert Arnaud-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée Chambolle-Musigny The nose has sweetness the palate ripe fruit with more black fruits than red. There is fresh fruit at the back but the finish has depth rich fruit sweetness. Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Proces Rich on the nose the palate has depth the richness of ripe black fruits. Slightly fresher in the middle but the back palate and finish have depth and sweet fruited power. Vosne-Romanée Red fruited on the nose the start of the palate is quite light but it fills out in the middle with richer fruit more of a black fruit character. The finish has depth and sweetness. Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru The nose has the richness of ripe fruit and the palate starts with fleshy depth. The tannins are ripe the mid palate supple but under the sweet fruit mulberry and bramble gives freshness and although the back palate is rich the finish is light fragrant and elegant. 9 Master of Wine: Derek Smedley Master of Wine: Derek Smedley

10 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2013 Vins Auvigue Charnay-lès-Mâcon Mâcon-Fuissé Tasted in Lilley September 2015 The nose has depth the palate the richness of pear and melon. Grapefruit and apple give freshness on the mid palate richer at the back ripe greengage and melon balanced by apple freshness on the finish. Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet Saint-Aubin Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Chamois Tasted at the Berry Bros tasting One Great George Street London January 2015 Sweet on the nose the palate has depth of flavour some rich greengage. Lime fresh in the middle both back palate and finish has a mix of fruits with an underlying sweetness. Puligny-Montachet Les Aubues Tasted at the Berry Bros tasting One Great George Street London January 2015 The nose is lean with mineral and flint the palate fresh fruited at the start crisp apple but it fills out towards the back richer and sweeter the finish has flint mineral and a mix of fresh fruits. Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriotte Tasted at the Berry Bros tasting One Great George Street London January 2015 Rich on the nose the palate is fleshy with ripe fruit. Ripe melon is backed by greengage a good depth of flavour the sweet fruit balanced at the back by apple. The finish is rich ripe with good depth of flavour. Domaine Bachelet-Legros Santenay Santenay Les Charmes Tasted in Lincoln s Inn March 2017 The fruit on the nose is light the start of the palate fresh minty red fruits. Sweeter in the middle some richer flavours yet at the back the citrus and apple dominate the finish long and fresh fruited. Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street London January 2015 Light and fresh on the nose with a crunchy apple start to the palate. Richer and sweeter in the middle then lime and mineral give a lovely freshness on the finish. Chassagne-Montrachet Tasted in the Carlton Club February 2016 Honeyed and sweet on the nose the palate has depth and richness ripe melon. The mid palate is tight the acidity quite high a slight lack of fruit but it does fill out at the back and there is richness on the finish. Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street London January 2015 Rich on the nose the palate is packed with ripe fruit fleshy greengage and honeydew melon. Behind the richness apple and lime refresh and balance but the finish has richness depth and sweet fruited power. Maranges 1er Cru La Fussière Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street London January 2015 Raspberry and redcurrant refresh the nose the start of the palate quite light. Richer in the middle still very red fruit in character the sweeter fruit underpinned by freshness the finish quite light but has good length flavours that linger. 12 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2013 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru The nose has rich fruit ripe black but the start of the palate is lighter fresh mulberry and redcurrant. It fills out at the back with sweetness on the finish. Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes Fresh and red fruited on the nose the start of the palate is bright quite light. The fruit on the mid palate is sweeter some rich flavours black plums with fresher mulberry on the back palate and finish. Domaine Bichot Beaune Bourgogne Pinot Noir Vieilles Vignes Tasted in the Carlton Club November 2016 The nose is fresh the start of the palate firm with a mix of red fruits. There is a hint of sweetness on the mid palate but it is overtaken by freshness the back palate tight and the finish lacking in depth. Domaine Samuel Billaud Chablis Chablis Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting October 2014 The fruit on the nose is crisp and the start of the palate has crunchy freshness. There is some sweetness on the mid palate but fresher at the back the finish light fragrant and mineral. Chablis 1er Cru Les Fourneaux Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting October 2014 There is sweetness on the nose and quite rich fruit at the start of the palate a nice weight of flavour. Greengage towards the back gives way to citrus the finish has a racy freshness. Chablis 1er Cru Les Vaillons Tasted the Charles Taylor tasting Travellers Club London January 2015 Citrusy fresh fruits both nose and palate has a racy crispness. There is a touch of sweetness in the middle slightly fuller at the back but the finish has flint and mineral freshness. Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 12

13 BURGUNDY 2013 October 11, 2012 Chablis 1er Cru Les Vaillons Vieilles Vignes Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting October 2014 Concentrated and rich on the nose the palate has depth of flavour greengage with a hint of tropical fruit. It is very fresh at the back apples and lime the finish long racy and fresh fruited. Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting October 2014 Light and fresh on the nose there is a floral character. The palate is light fresh with a mix of citrus and flint the finish although light has a mineral raciness and good length. Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting October 2014 Tasted the Charles Taylor tasting Travellers Club London January 2015 Light fragrant fresh fruited on the nose both nose and palate is very citrus driven. There is richness on the mid palate more depth of fruit but the citrus and mineral take over at the back the finish crisp and racy. Chablis Grand Cru Preuses Tasted the Charles Taylor tasting Travellers Club London January 2015 The fruit on the nose feels ripe the palate has depth of flavour. Fresh fruits lime and apple underpin and balance with the richer fruit giving more depth and weight at the back. Domaine Billaud-Simon Chablis Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu Tasted the Charles Taylor tasting Travellers Club London January 2015 Fresh on the nose fragrant with white flowers the palate is citrusy. There is a touch of sweetness in the middle slightly richer with the lime the gooseberry at the back refreshing the finish. Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre There is more grapefruit on the nose slightly deeper and richer and the palate has depth at the start. 14 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2013 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Grands Liards Fresh red fruited the nose has a mix of fruits all quite fragrant. The start of the palate is light fresh redcurrant and raspberry and although it fills out in the middle with rich ripe mulberry the finish is fresh quite light with lingering red fruits. Latricières Chambertin Grand Cru The nose has a fragrant charm a fresh mix of red fruits the palate though has richer fruits the mid palate sweet with ripe mulberry and black cherry. It is lighter and fresher towards the back the finish just lacking a bit of richness and depth. Domaine Blain-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet Chasagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets The mix of melon and greengage is ripe the nose has depth and the palate starts with richness. The sweetness on the mid palate is balanced by freshness at the back with lime and apple on the finish. Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Pommard Rully 1er Cru Les Cloux Light fresh fruited with a crisp start the palate has a lemon and lime mix. The mid palate is slightly herbal the back palate richer with ripe greengage. The richness the sweetness balanced by apple and citrus at the back. Montagny 1er Cru Vieux Château The nose has depth richness the palate the sweetness of melon and greengage. There is a balancing freshness slightly lighter at the back but rich and sweet fruited on the finish. Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 14

15 BURGUNDY 2013 October 11, 2012 Puligny-Montrachet Tasted in the Carlton Club July 2016 The nose is typical of the village fresh apple a hint of citrus and flint the palate starts fresh quite light but it fills out in the middle with ripe pear and greengage. Lighter at the back fresh fruit backed by flint the finish has length a racy freshness. Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts Fresh on the nose the palate is light at the start mineral and flint but under the freshness greengage gives a richer. At the back and on the finish mineral and citrus refresh a good length of flavour. Jean-Claude Boisset Nuits-Saint-Georges Mâcon-Igé Château London Tasted at the Liberty tasting The Oval September 2015 The vines are planted on a small vineyard close to the village of Igé the wine typical of that part of the Côte Mâconnais with its peachy richness on the nose and its bright apple freshness on mid palate. Nice depth of fruit at the back the finish has a hint of oak spice excitement. Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes-de Nuits Tasted at the Liberty tasting The Oval September 2017 The nose is herbal leafy the palate very fresh and slightly green. Pear in the middle gives a slightly richer feel but the fruit at the back is fresh the finish firm and lacking in length. Maranges Tasted at the Liberty tasting The Oval September 2016 Tasted in Lincoln s Inn March 2017 Hints of sweetness on the nose the palate starts with red cherry and ripe mulberry. The rich mix of fruits is underpinned by freshness redcurrant and a touch of bramble. Lighter fragrant minty at the back the finish has complexity with red fruit freshness and sweeter black. Chorey-lès-Beaune Beaumonts Tasted at the Liberty tasting The Oval September 2016 The fruit is ripe the nose has depth the palate a rich mix of black fruits and mulberry. 16 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2013 Château de Pierreux Bourgogne Gamay Monopole Tasted at the Liberty tasting The Oval September 2016 Light fragrant the nose has a mix of red fruits the palate has more depth with mulberry and red cherry. Firm in the middle but at the back there is sweetness depth of fruit with the freshness coming through on the finish. Maison Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières Fleshy rich ripe fruit on the nose the palate has depth of flavour honeyed melon. The ripe richness is balanced by the underlying apple and although the back palate is slightly light the finish has depth. Meursault 1er Cru Perrieres The nose is fresh the palate rich honeyed with ripe melon and fleshy greengage. The depth the richness is balanced to some extent by apple freshness but it fills out at the back ripe fruited and honeyed. Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles Although the nose is sweet fruited the start of the palate is quite fresh with a strong red fruit character. There is a sweeter feel in the middle the back palate quite tight bit slightly more open on the finish. Le Corton Grand Cru The fruit is sweet with a strong black fruit influence the mid palate has depth and richness. The sweetness is underpinned by red fruits mulberry with the black fruits coming through at the back depth of flavour on the finish. Echézeaux Grand Cru Sweet and ripe the nose has depth of fruit the palate supple with ripe black fruits and mulberry. Layers of flavour give complexity the sweet fruit refreshed by red fruits and although lighter at the back the finish has depth richness. Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 16

17 BURGUNDY 2013 October 11, 2012 Domaine Michel Bouzereau Meursault Meursault Les Grands Charrons The fruit on the nose is rich and fleshy the palate honeyed with ripe melon. Slightly lighter towards the back apple and citrus freshness and the finish is quite light. Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes Dessus There is some rich fruit on the nose and the start of the palate has melon richness. Lighter in the middle apple freshness and both back palate and finish lack real depth and the richness of sweet fruit. Domaine Boyer-Martenot Meursault Meursault Fernand Boyer Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting October 2014 The nose is rich and ripe fruited and the palate starts with honeyed sweetness. The mix of fruits the greengage and melon are underpinned by apple giving complexity the sweetness the honeyed richness fleshing out the back palate. Domaine Brocard Chablis Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent Full and rich fruited on the nose the start of the palate has greengage richness. Lime in the middle helps to refresh the back palate is lighter yet the finish has some sweet fruit. Chablis Grand Cru Le Clos The nose has depth the palate starts with rich fruit ripe melon. 18 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2013 Domaine Jean-Paul Brun Charnay Sparkling Wines Crémant de Bourgogne Tasted in the Mansion House July 2016 Floral spring flowers the nose is light the palate very fresh with a strong citrus and apple mix. Greengage towards the back slightly richer but it finishes light with citrus freshness. Domaine Jacques Cacheux et Fils Vosne-Romanée Vosne-Romanée Les Raviolles Tasted the Charles Taylor tasting Travellers Club London January 2015 The nose has red fruited freshness and the start of the palate is bright red fruits redcurrants. The mid palate sweeter richer and there is a fair weight of fruit at the back. Echézeaux Grand Cru Tasted the Charles Taylor tasting Travellers Club London January 2015 Rich fruit gives depth on the nose and a brooding richness on the start of the palate. The mainly black fruits are sweet depth at the back but fresher quite firm and tight on the finish. Domaine Castagnier Morey-Saint-Denis Chambolle-Musigny Tasted in the Carlton Club January 2017 The fruit on the nose is fresh and fragrant a mix of red fruits. Bright at the start but there is mid sweetness ripe mulberry and some black fruits the tannins fine the back palate fleshy and rich. Complex with layers of flavour freshness yet sweetness the fruit lingers on the finish. Domaine Cathiard Vosne-Romanée Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 18

19 BURGUNDY 2013 October 11, 2012 Vosne-Romanée The nose is closed the palate tight fresh red fruited. Slightly sweeter in the middle but the freshness the firm tannins tend to lighten and hold back the fruit and close down the finish. Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Thorey Although the nose is quite tight the palate is more open fresh at the start lots of bramble and redcurrant but sweeter and richer in the middle. The back palate has depth yet the finish is lighter quite fresh with flavours that linger. Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Murgers Rich sweet fruit on the nose the palate has depth of flavour quite chunky in the middle black fruit dominated. The back palate is lighter with a mix of fresh fruits and the finish has a mix of fragrances. Château de Chamirey Mercurey Mercurey 1er Cru La Mission Tasted the Charles Taylor tasting Travellers Club London January 2015 The nose has a lot of rich fruit and the start of the palate is meaty ripe greengage. There is a fresher feel towards the back slightly lighter the finish quite tight. Mercurey Rouge Tasted at the Carlton Club September 2016 The nose is fresh the palate sweeter with a mix of black fruits ripe blueberries and bramble. Behind the sweetness red fruits refresh balancing the richness but there is depth of flavour at the back and sweet fruit on the finish. Mercurey 1er Cru Les Ruelles Tasted the Charles Taylor tasting Travellers Club London January 2015 The nose is closed the start of the palate tight red and black cherry. 20 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2013 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Savigny-lès-Beaune Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile des Vergelesses Fresh fragrant the nose has a mix of red fruits the start of the palate bright. There is a richer feel to the mid palate more of a red cherry character firmer at the back with lots of fresh fruit on the finish. Corton Maréchaudes Grand Cru The mix of red and black fruits is rich the nose has depth the palate sweetness. Rich in the middle the sweetness is balanced by fresh redcurrant with sweet fruit at the back enriching and filling out the finish. Corton Bressandes Grand Cru Sweet ripe fruit gives richness on both nose and palate. Black fruits appear to dominate but behind there is some fleshy mulberry layers of interest. It is fresher at the back yet it finishes with richness and depth. Domaine Chanson Beaune Chablis Tasted at Party Ingredients July 2015 The nose is light the palate fresh just lacking a bit of depth. Fresh at the back with apple and citrus the finish is quite light and a touch short. Chablis 1er Cru Montmains The nose is light and flinty the palate fresh with a mix of lime and lemon. Light at the start fuller fruitier in the middle the finish is crisp with lots of citrus and flint. Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 20

21 BURGUNDY 2013 October 11, 2012 Rich full the nose has depth of fruit and the start of the palate has weight of flavour. It is fresher towards the back slightly leaner with citrus and flint the finish crisp. Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaumes Apricot dominates the nose full and fat and the start of the palate is heavy with an oily richness. The fruit at the back is richer apricot and yellow peach but this is balanced by underlying lime and apple. Rully Tasted at Party Ingredients July 2015 Fresh on the nose the palate has depth a greengage melon mix but at the back apple balances the richness with layers of flavour giving interest. The finish has length sweetness yet an underlying freshness. Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Caradeux Citrus and apple refresh the nose light but has a fragrant charm. The mid palate is light with refreshing acidity yet there is slightly more depth and greengage richness at the back. Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Sur Le Sentier du Clos Both nose and palate are racy with fresh fruit and minerals. The honeyed richness is balanced by mid freshness the finish lighter apple, a touch of lime and herbaceous green leaves. Meursault 1er Cru Perrières The fruit on the nose has honeyed richness the palate full ripe fruited with fleshy melon. Slightly firmer in the middle and at the back more apple and greengage yet the finish is honeyed and sweet fruited. Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes Rich on the nose the palate has breadth and fleshy richness weight of fruit. The fruit feels ripe greengage and melon but towards the back there is a balancing freshness with lots of cut apple yet it fills out on the finish the fruit sweet. Puligny-Montrachet The nose is light fragrant fresh fruited and the palate herbal leafy the citrus and apple underpinned by mineral and flint. Light on the back palate the finish has length and lime freshness. Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gains The fruit on the nose is rich the start of the palate heavy fleshy lots of ripe melon. There is mid freshness some citrus some apple and both back palate and finish have a racy flinty mineral character. Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières Lime and mineral the nose is fresh the start of the palate crisp. The mid palate has a richer feel ripe greengage the sweetness of the fruit balanced by freshness. The back palate is light flinty fresh with flavours that linger on the finish. Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru The fruit feels ripe the nose has depth honeyed greengage and the palate fleshy with ripe melon richness. Under the sweet fruit lime and apple refresh and balance but there is just a slight lack of fruit depth on the back palate and the finish is lacking a bit of character. 23 BURGUNDY 2013 October 11, 2012 Pernand-Vegelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses Both nose and palate are light fresh red fruited and although there is a little more depth in the middle just a touch of bramble the finish lacks richness and is a touch dry. Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Dominode Red cherry gives a slightly richer feel to the nose and a little more depth on the start of the palate. The mid-palate lacks fruit generosity has high acidity and the finish is short and dry. Santenay 1er Cru Beauregard The nose is light red fruited fragrant but lacking in depth and the palate has redcurrant freshness a lack of richness with quite high acidity on the finish. Beaune 1er Cru Teurons Black fruits are backed by red the nose has fair depth and the palate starts with some rich flavours. It feels lighter in the middle with fresh redcurrant tending to dominate and although at the back there is fruit sweetness the finish is quite dry. Beaune 1er Cru Clos du Roi The black fruits on the nose feel ripe there is depth of flavour the start of the palate quite rich. The mix of fruits the bramble and mulberry give complexity with the sweeter fruit giving a richer feel to the back palate. Beaune 1er Cru Champimonts The nose has sweetness with black fruits tending to dominate and the start of the palate has good depth of flavour. The mid palate is tight with firm tannins quite fresh towards the back but it fills out on the finish a richer mix of mainly black fruits. The tannins are fine the mid palate rich and ripe and although there is an underlying freshness the back palate and finish has the richness of ripe fruit. Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes Rich on the nose black fruited depth the palate is rounded with ripe flavours the tannins fine. The fleshiness the mid sweetness is underpinned by bramble slightly lighter towards the back but it finishes with depth and richness. Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Fèves Light and fragrant both nose and palate is red fruit dominated. The start of the palate is fresh but there is more depth and richness in the middle with ripe black cherry at the back. The finish though is just a touch dry. Corton Grand Cru Although the nose is light it is fragrant and the start of the palate has red fruit freshness. There is more depth in the middle some ripe mulberry but at the back the fresher red fruits tend to dominate the finish light just a slight lack of substance. Nuits-Saint-Georges Light and fresh with red fruits to the fore both nose and palate are lacking in depth. The mid palate has high acidity slightly hollow with a fresh quite short finish. Gevrey-Chambertin The nose is light the palate firm lacking in fruit richness. The acidity tends to dominate very red fruited the back palate and finish lacking in fruit richness. Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Perrière The nose has fruit sweetness depth of flavour and the start of the palate is meaty and rich. The mix of black cherry and ripe mulberry give complexity the sweetness of the fruit enriching the back palate and finish. Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru The mainly red fruits on the nose are fresh the palate light the mid acidity quite high. Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru Depth of fruit the nose is full rich with a strong black fruit character. Black fruits dominate the palate the fruit sweet the mid palate rich yet there is enough bramble freshness to balance. The back palate and finish have ripe fruit richness, power and depth. Slightly sweeter towards the back black fruits tend to dominate the finish though lighter fresher and red fruited. Chambertin Grand Cru Deep fruited the nose is rich with ripe fruit the palate profound black fruit with the ripeness of the tannins adding to the suppleness. Bramble and bilberry help to balance the back palate lighter but the finish has depth richness and powerful flavours. Domaine Coche-Bizouard Meursault Meursault Les Chevalières Tasted in the Carlton Club June 2016 Fresh lime and apple on the nose the start of the palate is light and citrusy. It lacks mid richness the back palate dominated by fresh quite hard fruits the finish is light and lacking in character. The mid palate is lighter a strong apple influence the freshness at the back giving way to sweetness on the finish. Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Vides Bourses Crisp on the nose the palate starts with apple freshness. There is mid sweetness depth of flavour the richer flavours though backed by apple and lime. The finish is clear cut and fresh. Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gains Fresh on the nose there is sweetness ripe greengage giving more depth and weight on the palate.
