Exclusively for you, our local friend Mimmo will open the doors of his house, Casa Vestita, a spectacular home-museum with a stunning garden composed of an old colonnade and fig trees. This place is a sort of treasure chest and Mimmo will proudly show you some archeological findings from the Roman period and other surprises among which a Byzantine frescoes located in the cave church of Santa Barbara, hidden and unknown for many centuries. At the end of the visit, guests will have a proper pottery hands-on workshop at Mimmo slab, just a couple of minutes walk from Casa Vestita, to play with ceramic and create an artifact. Last, but not least, it will come the time to enjoy the view from the lab s terrace while tasting a glass of wine and other local specialties. This will not only be an amazing experience through which having a hint of the daily routine at the farm but also the occasion to realize that this slow lifestyle will let your body feel relaxed and your soul refreshed. After being warmly welcomed by the local farmers, they will show you the farmhouse and the animals but most of all you will try in first person the milking experience and learn how to make cheese following handcrafted process and using fresh milk, but also a bombette making lab. Try to master the art of cheese-making and discover how intense and touching might be to hand milk an ewe and take care of the others animals. Finally, you will have plenty of time to snap some great photos and taste delicious farm dairy products. What we propose is to experience al these stages of this local ritual, from the food shopping at the local market to the lunch or dinner. Our local friends will open the doors of their homes to share recipes that come from their parents and grandparents using only local ingredients. If you are not so into cooking, you could also decide to have the lunch together with the family and not taking part to the cooking time. What almost nobody knows is why we are so proud of a village like Alberobello and that is why we offer an experience with Mimmo, our local friend and great connoisseur of the Apulian traditions. He will drive you through narrow streets and alleys that he knows as his own pocket, tell you anecdotes and fun facts of the village so that you will jump in the past having a sense of what it feels like to be Apulian. You will delve into the authentic life of the village and, together with Mimmo, you will have the chance to visit a private trullo-museum, which is very uncommon since trulli always have a private owner and it is so hard to walk in.
