Since 1808 our family has used its skill to select parcels of land which are particularly well exposed and extremely rich in limestone. For the most part they are located around Urville, where Pinot Noir, the predominant grape variety, finds its loveliest expression and allows the production of very elegant, aromatic wines. Our Cognac LOUIS MEMORY is both a tribute to Louis DEAU who settled in the cognac region during the reign of Louis XIV and the masterpiece of the family Collection. It is a Grande Champagne cognac, whose oldest cognacs were harvested at the beginning of XXth century and the youngest in 1970's. The name BLACK refers to the color of the glass used by the professional tasters during blind tasting sessions. DEAU BLACK is a blend of Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne cognacs. It is first aged in new casks and then matured in older casks less generous in tannins. TASTING NOTE On the nose, DEAU BLACK is very floral and aromatic (iris, violet, honeysuckle, orange blossom).
