2 WINES - ARGENTINA Michel Torino is the iconic winery of the Calchaqui Valleys in the Argentine Province of Salta. The Calchaqui Valley vineyards are among the highest (1700 to 2300 meters above sea-level) in Argentina and around the world. The altitude moderates the maximum temperatures and creates great range (35ºC- 15ºC), enabling the spectacular vineyards to produce grapes with great intensity and phenolic concentration. The grapes ripen slowly and the wines are rich in colour with good structure and tannic texture and amazing aging potential. Cuma means pure and clear in Aymara, the language of a tribe who inhabited the region in the Inca s time. The Cuma range is certified organic and means that strictly controlled processes are adhered to in the vineyards and in the winemaking process. It is the winery s way to reconnect to the land and - through ecological responsibility - contribute to the future of coming generations.
