6 The Auction Program Friday 14th March 2014 Morning 'Get-your-hands-dirty' harvesting An opportunity hosted by participating wineries to welcome Auction Guests into the vineyards during the beautiful and exciting March harvest period. Winery specific opportunities and by invitation only. From 7am 10am Lunchtime 'Insider' pre-events A series of relaxed private and public pre-auction lunches hosted by individual wineries and Auction Ambassadors to entertain their guests. 8 Friday 14th March 2014 The 'Barrel Tasting and Auction Preview' hosted by Waterford Estate Owner Jeremy Ord and partner/cellarmaster Kevin Arnold will welcome you into the beautiful quadrangle at Waterford Estate. Selected winemakers will present prized barrels of their best 'hard-to-get' wines and present you with a tasting directly from the barrel. These exceptional barrels have been donated as auction lots and will be available for sale on the Saturday auction. An opportunity to preview the Auction lots, chat to the winemakers and plan your bidding for the main Saturday event. 10 Saturday 15th March 2014 The AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction The glamorous main event will kick-off at midday with a Champagne reception. Gents in stylish summer suits, ladies in flowing summer dresses and a relaxed ambience will greet you as Chefs Margot Janse, Neil Jewell and Christiaan Campbell lead a celebrity culinary team to present a stunning, innovative and relaxed lunch. The greatest South African wines poured by the winemakers themselves will keep you entertained in between the excitement of the main auction. The Auction is your opportunity to make a difference. An invitation to make a donation towards education in the winelands. Tickets: R3 000 per person Time: 12 (midday) 7pm Venue: Delaire Graff Estate, Stellenbosch Dress: Summer suits and summer dresses. 12 Charity The Cape Wine Auction Trust mandate is to focus proceeds on education in the winelands of South Africa. Imagine all the good we can do. Imagine breaking down perceptions. Imagine what our community effort can do to raise a previously unimaginable amount of money for charity. Imagine what a difference we can make in changing people s lives. The Auction mandate includes all aspects of education from infant development, technological innovation through to the provision of a leadership academy and tertiary educational endowments. The beneficiaries that will align with the Auction include: The Pebbles Project enriches the lives of children from disadvantaged backgrounds through providing support and training to local wine farm and township créches and establishing after-school provision for older children living in the South African wine lands. The Make A Difference Charity strives to give academically talented but economically disadvantaged youth in South Africa an opportunity to reach their full potential as leaders and role models by providing exceptional educational opportunities. The Click Foundation is an educational skunkworks set up as a response to the educational crisis in South Africa. Their aim is to innovate and test non-conventional, out of the box, technology-based solutions that have potential to scale and meaningfully impact education for individuals.

16 The Cape Wine Auction Trust To facilitate corporate governance and accountability, the Cape Wine Auction Trust will be registered as a non-profit organisation. The Trust will be registered under common law and the Trust and Property Control Act 57 of The Trust will be registered with SARS as a tax-exempt organisation to allow for tax deductions on donations. The Trust will be administered and audited by PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) who are an international auction partner. Trustees The Cape Wine Auction Trust will have a minimum of three Trustees who recognize that high level corporate governance, accountability and transparency are key building blocks for long-term sustainability. Trustees will implement the Trust mandate in line with the corporate governance and accountability statement. Trustees, in conjunction with PWC, will be responsible for the allocation and monitoring of charitable funds raised. An advisory sub-committee will provide a support function for the Trust.
