In honour of the men who fought, served and died defending our country, 15 students from South Grafton High School participated in the 2016 South Grafton Anzac march.

School Captain Max Rose and Vice-Captain Brayden Robinson represented South High by laying the wreath. The ceremony was a huge success, thank you to all the students and staff who participated.

In honour of the men who fought, served and died defending our country, 15 students from South Grafton High School participated in the 2016 South Grafton Anzac march. The students marched from Spring Street down to the end of Skinner Street to the cenotaph where the ceremony took place. School Captain Max Rose and Vice-Captain Brayden Robinson represented South High by laying the wreath. The ceremony was a huge success, thank you to all the students and staff who participated. Great news! Back by parent request From Term 2, the Djehuti Smart withdrawal program will be available to students in need in Year 7 or 8. We will be identifying these students in the first two weeks of this term, so please contact the school (their Maths teacher, or myself, Mrs Tanya Fisher, or Mrs Nancy Loveridge) if you feel your child needs help with basic numeracy. Places will be limited and students will be selected on a needs basis. This will be reviewed in Terms 3 and 4. Bienvenue en Nouvelle Calédonie Pendant les dernières vacances, mes élèves en terminale sont allés en Nouvelle Calédonie. OOPS!! In the April holidays, Year 12 French Beginner students and a Year 8 French student travelled with Mr Doerner and Mrs Lancaster to New Caledonia as part of our newly established school exchange with Collège Portes de Fer in Nouméa. Hayden, Matthew, Bradley and Jasper stayed with the families of students at the Collège, reinforcing strongly that it pays to study French hard BEFORE you go on a trip to a Frenchspeaking country! Luckily the parents spoke some English, so no- one starved. The food was amazing and I didn t realise, (why am I shocked?!!)that my daughter and I could eat so much French cake. We met the Australian Ambassador to New Caledonia, who did his whole speech in French, making Mrs Lancaster think that he must have always listened to his French teacher in high school!

New Caledonia during WW2 was the major American/ NZ and Australian base in the Pacific and many lives were lost here. I was very proud of my small group from SGHS. A big thanks to Monsieur Doerner for accompanying us.
