3 THE COUNTY LINE PAGE Lennon Lions Homecoming was Awesome! The Lennon Lions Annual Homecoming celebration was a huge success this year. The parade had many more participants compared to years past, and the Car/Truck Show had an alltime high with over 100 participants as well. The weather cooperated and many attendees enjoyed the food and entertainment of Lennon Homecoming! The big Cub Cadet raffle winner was Mary A. of Durand. $100 winners Included Janet, Robert, Carolyn and William. Congrats! The Firemen s Pancake breakfast, the Chicken BBQ, Bingo, dance featuring The B-Sides, Smokin in the D BBQ, Flushing Lions, Sweet Treats, Lennon Methodist Ladies desserts, Bounce House and Face painting from Lennon Wesleyan Church, pie eating contest, and Car & Truck Show, were just some of the festivities this year. Congratulations to Lennon Lions for another fun & entertaining weekend here in Lennon! (parade photos courtesy of DurandNow.com, Josh Strickland) Lennon Police Update Chief Rich is finding retiring from the Durand Lennon Chief Folaron Police Department and becoming Chief Zoll s replacement in Lennon is a little more fast-paced then he first envisioned. During the first few months he and his Officers, Kirt Stechshulte and new Officer Keith THE Hansen have been active on several cases and bringing them to a close. The biggest case has been the stolen Cub Cadet tractor from the Lennon Lions Club. That case resulted in the confiscation of stolen properties presently identified by and solving cases for more than eight local law enforcement agencies. There is also a suspect being questioned concerning a fire in the shed behind the Doyle Knight property. Chief Rich has an open-door policy and COUNTY LINE encourages residents to drop by. He is already getting a good rapore with the local neighborhood children. 3

Daystarr and TVC Cable agreed that a partnership would benefit both Companies, and Voila, there s a new team in town. It s a win-win situation for everyone. :) Lennon Telephone / TVC Cable is very happy to be partnering with a local Company that offers wonderful services and has a friendly team, ( it does sound familiar doesn t it ) Hopefully, both Companies continue to grow and offer great services to the residents of Shiawassee County for a long time to come. If you know someone that lives in the Corunna/Owosso area, please encourage them to visit the Daystarr office and compare services. They will thank you for it! Vote Yes for 4-H MSUe Funding Aug. 2nd!! If Keep 4-H alive and well in Shiawasee County!! this millage doesn t pass, it is likely there will be no MSU Extension programming including 4-H in our County.
