5 Issue%10,%2014;2015 %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%April%3,%2015 Easy Ways You Can Help Raise Funds for Avon! Target REDcards (Avon recently received a check from Target for over $500 through the following program!) How? Use your Target REDcard when you are doing your normal shopping at Target, and designate Avon through their Take Charge of Education program-this provides Avon with much needed funds. If you already have a Target REDcard, you can participate in the Take Charge of Education program and help our school! Target donates up to 1% of purchases made using the REDcard to eligible K-12 schools designated by Target consumers. Avon has received over $6, over the past few years through this giving program. If you are interested in designating Avon on your REDcard, go to Target.com/tcoe and click on the enroll now link, then enter our School ID (46818); this will lead you to Avon s information page. Click on designate school where you will then be asked for your information and REDcard number. Please note that Avon is listed as Avon Center Elementary and our School ID is If you don t yet have a REDcard, you can go to Target and apply for one directly, or you can apply online at Target.com. If you apply in store, you can take our school ID (46818) and they can add that to your application the same day. Or, once you have your REDcard number, you can designate our school online at Target.com/tcoe. To learn more about designating Avon, applying for a REDcard, or about the program, visit or call Abbott Labs Employee Giving Campaign Do you or someone in your extended family work at Abbott Laboratories or Abbvie? The Avon Office would like to tell you of a way you can help support Avon. Each year in the fall at Abbott & Abbvie, there is an Employee Giving Campaign, where Abbott & Abbvie will donate matching funds to donations made by its employees. You can designate Avon School as your recipient organization, and help raise needed funds for our school! 7 Small Card, BIG Results 2015 District 46 Major Saver Campaign Foundation 46 is once again offering Major Saver cards for sale through the District 46 K-8 schools. Students will receive the sales packets on Monday, March 30 th. Students will be selling the $10 discount cards until Monday, April 13 th. Proceeds from the sale of Major Saver cards directly support the participating schools. Last year, the Foundation raised over $10,900 through the sale of the Major Saver cards. This year 20% of funds raised by each student will be given to his or her school and the remaining 80% will be used to fund science experiments and other hands on learning opportunities to align with the Next Generation Science Standards. The 2015 participating businesses include Buffalo Wild Wings, Subway, Dog n Suds, McDonalds, Jump Zone, Culver s, Pizza Hut, Dalton s Cakes, Penn Station, Rosati s, Somethings Brewing, Sammie s, Emil s, Tastee Freez, Uniquely Sweet, Arby s, Kristof s and The Vine, which has included an incredible offer of up to $12 off! Major Saver cards can be purchased via cash, check or online at The online sale can be credited back to a particular student and school. All cards purchased online will be mailed directly to the customer. Don t want to carry a card around? Major Saver cards can also be purchased, and credited to a student, through the Major Saver App. Once the free app is downloaded to an Android or ios device, buyers can choose a Major Saver card through the buy cards tab on the app. Once the buyer completes the transaction the offers will be stored in the Major Saver App. Patrons can then redeem offers directly from the app and do not need a physical card. Major Saver stresses safe selling and discourages door to door campaigning. The company encourages students to sell to family members, church patrons, neighbors, or other adults the family may know;; and to always make sure their parents are involved. Please consider purchasing one or more Major Saver cards this year to help benefit District 46 and all the students within the district. Thank you for your continued support! po box 7261 grayslake, il 60030
