3 COMMUNITY NEWS 3 Home Delivered Meals Program Do you or someone you know have trouble preparing or eating lunch on their own? Then the Home Delivered Meals program (HDM) might be for you. The process is simple, you call our office and you will be directed to the Area Agency on Aging who will evaluate your home situation and determine whether you are eligible for free meal delivery. If you don t think you qualify you can call us and register for our private pay program which provides the same nutritious lunch for $3 a day. For more information please call Santiago Cornejo, Senior Center Supervisor. Community Action Program Utility Bill Assistance: SRP, SWG & Tolleson water/asistencia para facturas de utilidades. Rental Assistance: Past Due, First Month Deposits/Asistencia de renta. Weatherization Program: Homeowners only/ Programa de Climatización. Commodities Food Box: 1st Friday of every month/caja de Comida: Primer Viernes de cada mes. Emergency Food Pantry/Dispensa de alimentos de emergencia. 8 RECIPE 87 Ingredients: 2 tablespoons dark sesame oil, divided 2 garlic cloves, finely minced 2 pounds chicken breasts, skinless and boneless 1 head broccoli, stems removed 1 dozen mushrooms, sliced 3 carrots, peeled and julienned 1/4 pound green beans, diced 1 head bok choy, chopped 2 to 3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce Chicken Stir Fry Directions Heat 1 table spoon oil in a saute pan over medium heat. Add garlic and stir. Place the chicken In the pan and brown 4 minutes on each side. Remove from pan, slice into strips, set aside. Heat remaining tablespoon of oil in a wok over high heat. Add the vegetables and teriyaki sauce. Stir-fry quickly until the vegetables begin to soften. Add the chicken strips, combine well and continue to cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
