1 MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE GOODWOOD PARK HOTEL IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE ITS BIGGEST DURIAN FIESTA EVER! 16 March to 2 August 2015 Singapore, March 2015 With six stunning new creations to pad the line-up of durian-centric goodies this year twice as many as usual, the latest instalment of Goodwood Park Hotel s Durian Fiesta is an impressive bumper crop of delights! Introduced in 1983, this annual affair showcasing the most splendid D24 and Mao Shan Wang durians has always been a highlight for fans of their beguiling aroma and luxuriously creamy flesh. But with 2015 marking Singapore s momentous golden jubilee (SG50), the upcoming Durian Fiesta holds even stronger significance as a timely tribute to the nation s most well-loved fruit. New powerhouse treats, all teeming with intense D24 durian goodness, include the Durian Rainbow Ice Cream Cake; an eye-catching multi-coloured confection, and Durian Carrot-Walnut Cake; a traditional bake frosted with pulpy durian cream in lieu of the typical cream cheese. Offering oodles of pleasure in innocuously dainty forms are the Durian Macarons and Mini Durian Chocolate Wafer Rolls. From 16 March to 2 August 2015, these novel delights can be purchased at the hotel s Deli, along with other iconic signature items such as the Durian Puff, Durian Mousse Cake, Durian Strudel, Durian Crêpe and D24 or Mao Shan Wang Durian Ice Cream. Most noteworthy is the return of the Durian Cappuccino Cake, back by popular demand after a three-year absence. Among the slew of fresh innovations and returning favourites, the spotlight falls on the Mao Shan Wang Horn, a nostalgic throwback to the 60s the conical pastry filled with creamy durian pulp is an inspired spin on old-school cream horns, a popular offering in local neighbourhood bakeries then. This limited edition treat will be available at the Deli with the Mao Shan Power Puff; a jumbo-sized profiterole, from 30 May to 2 August From 30 May to 2 August 2015, Coffee Lounge will also be serving its much-lauded Dessert buffet with durian pastries during lunch and dinner. DURIAN RAINBOW ICE CREAM CAKE $11.75 per piece An inspired take on the trendy rainbow cake, this petite showstopper appeals to adults and children alike with vividly-coloured sponge hugging a core of luscious durian ice cream embedded with D24 pulp. DURIAN CARROT WALNUT CAKE $11.75 per slice; $72.75 for whole cake (1.4kg) Crusted all over with toasted almonds, this dense carrot and walnut layer cake does away with the usual staid cream cheese. Instead, it is jazzed up with velvety durian pulp, which adds dimensions in flavour and scent. MINI DURIAN CHOCOLATE WAFER ROLLS $32.10 for 10 pieces Delicate in size but brimming with flavour, these thick wafer cylinders curled around pulpy durian cream are blanketed in dark chocolate and finished with chopped nuts for extra crunch.
