4 WORLD GINS 5th Earth Citric (ESP) Infused with orange, lemon, tangerine and grapefruit peel. No citric acid is present so the tonic maintains its fizz. Powerfully acidic on the palate, with a sweet tangerine aftertaste. Bertha s Revenge Milk Gin (IRE) Named after Bertha, a Guinness World Recordholding Droimeann cow, this gin uses whey alcohol as its base, giving it a creamy quality. A particularly spicy gin, with cardamom and citrus notes on the nose and palate. Try with: orange. Blind Tiger Imperial Secrets (BEL) An aromatic and smooth gin containing three different types of black tea. Citrus, coriander and lemongrass are backed on the palate by warming tea and bitter almonds. Try with: Ginger Ale. Bobby s (NLD) Made with a combination of local and exotic ingredients, including juniper, clove, lemongrass, cubeb peppers and rosehips, Bobby s Schiedam Dry Gin is regularly described as Dutch Courage mixed with Indonesian spice. Try with: orange. Botanic Kiss (ESP) An aromatic and slightly fruity gin, thanks to the infusion of red berries. 5 Citadelle Reserve Aged (FRA) A unique aged French gin produced in very small quantities in Château de Bonbonnet by Cognac Ferrand s cellar master. The fresh and spicy aroma of juniper, citrus and star anise are present both in the scent and taste, with subtle flavours of vanilla, flowers, cinnamon and wood following. A beautiful pale gold - extremely delicate until the last sip. Try with: Tonic & ice only. Copperhead Black (BEL) A variation on the original recipe, featuring the sweetness of elderberry, paired with black Ceylon tea, plus juniper, coriander, cardamom, orange zest and angelica. Spicy with a citrus kick, this is the dark side of gin! Try with: orange. Dictador Ortodoxy (COL) Dictador Rum s former president, Dario Parra, visited the UK, where he decided that Gin was God s drink and immediately set about creating his own. The recipe is glorious, rich with juniper, Colombian berries, spices, angelica and mint notes. True to its roots, this gin is aged in used rum barrels after distillation. Try with: lime. Dorothy Parker (USA) Named after the legendary writer, this American gin is effortlessly cool. Made with traditional and contemporary botanicals such as juniper, elderberries, cinnamon and hibiscus petals, this is an elegant, original gin worthy of its namesake. Try with: rosemary & Valencian Orange Tonic. Elephant (DEU) Distilled using 14 botanicals, including unusual ones like baobab and devil s claw. Elephant also takes an active part in supporting African wildlife by contributing 15% of its profits to Big Life Foundation and Space For Elephants. Try with: juniper berries & Ginger Ale. Etsu (JPN) Meaning joy and pleasure in Japanese, Etsu combines several Asian botanicals - berries, teas and citrus. Bottled at 43% ABV, this is a well balanced floral gin with a peppery finish ending on yuzu aromas. Try with: lime. Exiles (IRE) Capturing Ireland s essence in a bottle, this gin is infused with shamrock, red clover flowers, honeysuckle flowers, rowanberries and bog myrtle. An artisan product from an eighthgeneration gin maker. Try with: Valencian Orange Tonic. Gunpowder (IRE) A fresh citrus taste with spicy notes, distilled with juniper, angelica, orris, caraway, coriander, meadowsweet, cardamom and anise, together with vapour-infused lemon, lime, grapefruit and gunpowder tea. Try with: Pink Grapefruit Tonic. G vine - Floraison (FRA) Once a year, for a few days only, the vine flower blossoms this is known as Floraison. This luxury French gin made from grapes and nine other botanicals is full-bodied, yet soft. Try with: strawberry. Hedgehog (NLD) Named after America s iconic star of adult cinema Ron Jeremy, nicknamed The Hedgehog, this gin is made with botanicals like damiana, ginseng and guarana. 6 WORLD GINS Herno Swedish Excellence (SWE) A full-on explosion of flavours including juniper, citrus peel and anise, with just a hint of sweetness. The aftertaste is long, with coriander kicking in together with pine. Try with: lemon. Jindea Single Estate Tea (FRA) Made from single estate First Flush Darjeeling Tea, whose springtime harvest produces a delicate and floral Himalayan black tea, known to tea-lovers as the Champagne of Tea. This is a citrus-forward gin with aromatic spices, peaches and apricots, distilled in a single pot still. Try with: pink grapefruit. Nordes (ESP) This Atlantic Galician Gin is made with an Albariño-grape base spirit rather than grain, along with 12 botanicals including lemon peel, hibiscus, liquorice and eucalyptus. The result is a bold, floral flavour profile with a clean refreshing finish. Try with: mint & lime. O Ndina (ITA) Described as the Spirit of the Italian Riviera, O ndina is an enjoyably savoury gin which features a botanical selection including an array of Mediterranean herbs with notes of thyme, fresh basil leaf and black pepper. Try with: rosemary. Larios 12 (ESP) A gin from Malaga that, as the name indicates, is made using 12 botanicals, including Mediterranean citrus and wild juniper and nutmeg, which are distilled five times. On the palate it s herbal and spicy with an abundance of citrus zest. Try with: lime & orange. MOM God Save The Gin (ESP) After four distillations, exotic botanicals infused with red fruits such as red berries give this gin a soft, velvety and vibrant taste. It was released by the Gonzales Byass family to celebrate the Queen s 90th birthday. Try with: strawberry & Rose Lemonade. Muff Liquor Company Potato (IRE) A crisp and aromatic gin that uses potatoes to produce the base spirit and is crafted with 9 botanicals including rosemary, elderflower, lemon and mandarin alongside Champagne essence. Try with: orange & juniper berries. Poppies Gin (BEL) The family-owned Rubbens distillery has been producing jenever since the early 1800s. Legend says that an English soldier who fought in the First World War created the recipe for this juniper-forward and richly herbaceous gin. Try with: lime & Rose Lemonade. Roku (JPN) Distilled in Japan combining traditional botanicals with six uniquely Japanese ones: Sakura Flower, Yuzu Peel, Sencha Tea, Sansho Pepper, Sakura Leaf, and Gyokuro Tea. Each one is harvested at the peak of its season to extract the best flavour, making ROKU (which means six in Japanese) fully embody the four seasons. Try with: lime & Pink Grapefruit Tonic. Scapegrace (NZL) Scapegrace is another name for rascal, but there is nothing wayward about this gin. Smooth and well rounded, it features a selection of 12 botanicals (juniper, coriander, nutmeg, cardamom, lemon peel, orange peel, orris, cinnamon, cassia, angelica, clove and liquorice). 7 Sharish Magic Blue (PRT) Produced in the Alentejo region from 100% Portuguese fresh fruit, no artificial colouring is used its colour comes from the blue pea flower. Other botanicals include juniper, strawberry, cinnamon, lemon peel, ginger, liquorice and coriander seed. It s magic, because when tonic is added, its intense blue colour turns pink! Try with: strawberry. The Wave Dry (ESP) In celebration of the Mediterranean, this is a traditional yet pure gin with a good juniper core, fresh citrus and mellow herbs for a balanced flavour and delicate aroma. Try with: orange & juniper berries. The West Winds Gin - The Sabre (AUS) Unashamedly classic, this gin incorporates a strong undercurrent of citrus weaving through twelve spices and botanicals including juniper, lemon myrtle, lime peel and toasted wattle seed, bringing a unique creaminess to the palate. Try with: lemon. Tinto (PRT) From Portugal comes the world s first red gin! With 14 botanicals, Tinto is a complex gin that comes together incredibly well and is soft yet gripping on the palate. Try with: cardamom & rosemary. Uncle Vals Botanical (USA) A small batch botanical gin inspired by Zio Valerio s love of gardening and native Tuscan cuisine. Botanicals including juniper, cucumber, lemon, sage and lavender are merged to create this unique style of gin. The first sip will bring out a lemon taste, followed by a warm spicy lavender finish, softened by the coolness of cucumber. Try with: lime & mint. Uncle Vals Peppered (USA) As gin goes, this is a racy, spicy and peppery spirit made using juniper and three types of pepper: red bell, black and pimento. The flavour starts with crisp, salty pepper, morphing into sour on the middle tongue with notes of soft sweet juniper and charred red peppers. Try with: lemon & juniper berries. Uncle Vals Restorative (USA) A crisp and floral gin harking back to the classic American Gin. Awakening your senses with a refreshingly bright taste, the gin lives up to its name Restorative. Botanicals include juniper, coriander, cucumber and rose petals. Try with: cardamom & lime. Ungava (CAN) A distinctly yellow Canadian spirit with unusual botanicals including cloudberries, crowberries and Labrador tea. This is a fantastic gin, sharper and with more pine flavour than most, with layers of tart berries and semi-sweet floral flavours. Try with: pink grapefruit & cardamom. Zing 72 (FRA) Made with winter wheat, Zing 72 is a mix of carefully harvested six botanicals and six provencal herbs which have been macerated for 72 hours then distilled in small copper alembics, from which the striking bottle design takes its inspiration. An aromatic and smooth gin full of character and flavour. Try with: mint. Zuidam Jonge (NLD) Genever is the juniper-flavoured national and traditional spirit of Holland and Belgium from which gin as we now know it evolved. The mash, made from rye, corn and malted barley, is distilled three times after fermentation and once more with botanicals such as juniper, liquorice and aromatic herbs. Try with: Ginger Ale. 9 3 Pugs (ENG) A smooth and refreshing gin from a small batch craft distillery based in Warrington, Cheshire, and named after the distiller s dogs. Made with eight exquisite botanicals, including juniper, basil and orange. Try with: orange. Blue Beetle (ENG) Rare and unconventional like its namesake, this gin is made with 18+1 carefully selected herbs and botanicals including one that remains a secret. Produced in small batches of bottles it has a smooth and lingering taste. Try with: lemon & mint. 6 O Clock (ENG) An extra smooth gin with floral and citrus notes named in homage to the Head Distiller s grandfather, a Gentleman Seafarer who never missed his daily 6 O clock G&T. It is made with just 7 botanicals, including elderflower and citrus peel. Try with: lemon. Batch (ENG) Produced and bottled by hand in Burnley, it contains botanicals like cinnamon, lemongrass, nutmeg, frankincense and myrrh, giving it an intriguing, mysterious and Christmassy flavour. Try with: lime & strawberry & Rose Lemonade. Bathtub (ENG) Winner of the World s Best Compound Gin at the 2014 World Gin Awards. Produced using the traditional cold compounding method, in which no distillation takes place after the initial grain is produced, with botanicals like juniper, coriander and orange slice left to infuse the grain spirit. Try with: lime & juniper. Bloom (ENG) A floral gin with a unique sweet taste, created by a blend of three botanicals - honeysuckle, camomile and pomelo. Try with: strawberries & Rose Lemonade. Boadicea (ENG) Named after Queen Boadicea that ruled the Iceni tribe of East Anglia alongside her husband King Prasutagus at the time of the Roman conquest of southern Britain, this uniquely smooth gin is distilled from Norfolk barley and a secret blend of ancient botanicals. Try with: lemon & mint. Brilliant (ENG) A delicately balanced, yet robust and clean gin made with botanicals such as juniper, coriander, lemon peel, orange peel, orris root, cinnamon, cassia bark and nutmeg. Try with: pink grapefruit. Brockman s (ENG) Made using traditional botanicals with the addition of blueberries and blackberries. The result is deliciously sumptuous with a daring allure. Try with: blueberries & Ginger Ale. Cloud View (ENG) Inspired by the scenic Cheshire countryside and bottled at 43.5% ABV, this small batch gin is made with a wide range of botanicals including juniper, rosemary, blackberry angelica and coriander. 10 BRITISH GINS Cuckoo (ENG) A juniper-forward gin from Brindle Distillery produced with a big focus on sustainability. All the raw materials come from the farm or are locally sourced with any by-products are put to good use on the farm as cattle food, chicken bedding or compost! Try with: orange or Valencian Orange Tonic. Cuckoo Spiced (ENG) Warming aromatics on the nose and palate from the very first taste. Cloves, ginger, cinnamon, fennel and lemongrass are followed by spicy black pepper, then mellowed with hints of jasmine, fig, rosehip and the scent of tonka beans. Try with: rosemary. Daffy s (SCT) Made with eight botanicals - juniper, coriander, angelica, lemon and orange peel, cassia bark, orris root and Lebanese Mint - it contains a balance of citrus and juniper with sweet fruits on the palate. Try with: mint & lime. Eden Mill - Love (SCT) This is a fragrant light blush Pink Gin from Eden Mill that brings together an outstanding blend of local botanicals and exotic fruits. Sweet vanilla and floral notes which are released when it is mixed with tonic. Try with: pink grapefruit. Firkin Islay Cask Rested (SCT) This limited edition has been rested in former whisky casks, giving it a unique flavour and colour. Look out for a spicy and fruity kick from the black pepper, lime peel, ash, vanilla, sea salt and coriander. Try with: lime & Ginger Ale. Firkin Port Cask Rested (SCT) A splendid new gin, aged gently for a few months in special ex-port casks, bringing some wonderfully complex rich and sweet notes of wine into the spirit. Try with: tonic & ice only. Foxhole (ENG) Made from the grape marc (a by-product of winemaking and often binned) produced by an English winery in Sussex. The marc is pressed and the resulting juice is distilled into a spirit, combined with classic botanicals, for this smooth and elegant gin. The Burgundy shaped bottle is a nod to its wine heritage. Try with: grapefruit & rosemary. Geranium (ENG) An exquisite London Dry Gin made with actual geranium - a fantastically aromatic plant. Very unusual, distinctive and utterly delicious. Try with: rosemary & Rose Lemonade. Glasgow Gin (SCT) With a personality of its own, Glasgow Gin is fun, playful, and full of flavour. The quadrupledistilled pure grain spirit, made from 100% wheat, is redistilled using ten flavoursome botanicals, creating a light, fresh and fruity gin. Try with: lime. Grins (ENG) A smooth gin named after the grinning Cheshire Cat and distilled using Peckforton water, Cheshire blueberries, cucumber and other locally sourced botanicals. 11 GWYR (WLS) Gower Gin captures the freshness of the sea and the heady fragrance of local herbs. The sophisticated blend of eight botanicals, including juniper, lemon, pink grapefruit, bronze and green fennel give this gin a good balance between savoury and citrus sweetness. Try with: pink grapefruit or Pink grapefruit tonic. Kuro (ENG) A Japanese-inspired London dry gin using botanicals, including silver birch bark, spruce needles and bamboo-activated charcoal. Kuro translates from Japanese as black, and it is the charcoal element which gives the gin its name. Try with: mint & juniper berries. Hoxton (ENG) A premium gin with attitude, this is a fresh and fruity gin made with ethically-sourced ingredients including tarragon, iris, ginger, grapefruit and coconut. Try with: juniper berries & Ginger Ale. Hoxton Pink (ENG) Using only ethically sourced botanicals, such as bergamot, chamomile, elderflower, grapefruit, gunpowder tea, hibiscus sugar, juniper, liquorice, orris and rose hip, this gin has a distinctive floral character, before citrus and bitterness interplay among light, aromatic spice. Jensen Old Tom (ENG) Recreated from an original recipe from the 1840s and made with a large selection of botanicals, this naturally sweet gin has a hint of aniseed and is an excellent after-dinner digestif. Try with: rosemary. Kokoro (ENG) Meaning heart or essence in Japanese, this is a London dry distilled with eight botanicals and fresh sansho berries traditional in Japanese cuisine for its citrus flavour and warm peppery finish. The balance of the gin is worthy of note, with peppery spice, sweet citrus and liquorice, almond, earthy notes and bitter citrus all combining beautifully. Try with: lemon. Martin Miller s (ENG) With botanicals sourced worldwide, and distilled in a 100-year-old copper pot still with Icelandic water, this gin is smooth and delicate, with citrus aromas. Try with: strawberry & Rose Lemonade. Mombasa Club (ENG) Named after a private social club founded in 1885 that imported gin to Zanzibar, this gin uses herbs and aromatic plants such as clove, cumin and cassia bark to faithfully reproduce the flavour of its original recipe. Try with: lemon. Nelson s Timur (ENG) Timur Pepper is part of the Szechuan Pepper family and is from the mountains of Nepal. With key botanicals including juniper, timur pepper, lemongrass, kaffir lime, vanilla and cinnamon, this gin has a unique aroma. It s not hot or pungent like a pepper, but has slight grapefruit overtones and creates a tingly feeling in the mouth. Try with: pink grapefruit. One Gin (ENG) Made with 9 classic botanicals plus sage, which adds a smooth and savoury edge to this gin. Made using cold distillation, the gin is vacuum distilled at -5 ºC and re-condensed at -100 ºC to capture the flavours of the botanicals and preserve their natural taste for the final spirit. Peaky Blinder Spiced (ENG) Named after the iconic Birmingham street gang from the Victorian era, this is a bold and punchy gin, made with a blend of nine botanicals and exotic spices including ginger and grains of paradise. Try with: lemon. Portobello Road (ENG) From the home of the Ginstitute, comes this oldstyle London Dry Gin with just nine botanicals. On the palate there is a healthy dose of juniper and citrus with a sweet peppery finish. Try with: grapefruit and mint. Ramsbury (ENG) A fantastic and fresh London Dry distilled using Horatio wheat grown in the fields surrounding the distillery as well as locally sourced botanicals including quince from the Ramsbury estate in Wiltshire. Try with: lemon & rosemary. Rock Rose (SCT) A handcrafted gin that changes yearly, depending on the botanicals available, and harvested in Caithness. The mix includes rhodiola rosea, rowanberries, sea buckthorn and verbena. Floral and zesty. Try with: rosemary & Valencian Orange Tonic. Sir Robin of Locksley (ENG) This Sheffield based gin boasts a radiant flavour profile thanks to the botanical selection, which includes elderflower, dandelion and pink grapefruit. Spirit of George (ENG) George Mallory took part in the first three British expeditions to Mount Everest back in Because It s There was his retort when asked why he wanted to climb Mount Everest. This hand-crafted smooth and dry gin is created in Mobberley, Cheshire, the village where the mountaineer was born and raised and it s a direct tribute, by using Himalayan tea sourced from Nepal as its star botanical. Try with: orange. Unicorn Tears (ENG) A mythical spirit with an iridescent glittery shimmer. Juniper-driven and citrusy on the nose, the palate is indulgent with sweet flavours of candied orange, coriander and mild notes of liquorice. Boodles - Mulberry (ENG) Combining delicate mulberries with notes of raspberry and currant for a sweet, subtle taste, while other botanicals such as rosemary, nutmeg and sage, help create an excellent balance and complexity of flavour.
