1 BREWPUB DE KROMME HARING We are going to create a brewpub in Utrecht, based on our simple philosophy: Well-made beer drank in a relaxed and interesting environment. We are Stephen and Gijs from brewery De Kromme Haring and we are building a fun and unique brewpub. It is located in Utrecht, between the burroughs of of Kanaleneiland and Rivierenbuurt. A place where everybody is welcome, outside in the sun or cozy inside our tasting room. Where one can drink beers made by us, but also other breweries. Where we'll invite foodmakers to get you a decent bite, while bands play or a DJ will spin fun tunes. In short a brewpub worth a detour for the good vibes and great tastes. We have come a long way, but we still need your help! Who are De Kromme Haring? Host Gijs van Wiechen came to Utrecht as a student. After graduating in 2008 he re-schooled himself in the burgeoning dutch beer scene. First as a bartender, later as a manager at the infamous specialty beer-cafe Kafe Belgie. He was one of the first to pour beers by the new dutch breweries in Utrecht and followed all the rapid developments closely. By managing a unique bar like Kafe Belgie he gained a lot of experience in the Dutch gastronomical scene. His specialty is introducing people to new flavours, convincing them of quality product and making them feel at home. Brewmaster Stephen Grigg, a researcher with a PhD in biology, has been brewing since First in the USA, later in the UK. After rooting in the Netherlands he became an appreciated guest at (home)brewers festivals like Kimchi Farm Festival and Carnivale Brettanomyces. His beers are building on English and American traditions, with a love for English malts and American Hops.

If anything characterises Stephen's beers, it is the carefully controled and meticulous monitored fermentation. He specialises in using less common and even wild yeasts.

Experimental flavours, that are not necessarily difficult. Unlocking these flavours and making them accessible to all drinkers is where his specialty lies. The first meeting Our first meeting took place after one of Stephen's beers was given to Gijs at Utrecht specialty coffee bar The Village, who was extremely impressed by its quality. We met each other in our passion for well-made beers, and a conviction that the Dutch beer culture has not yet reached its pinnacle. We started brewing professionally with the release of the 30 th anniversary beer of Kafe Belgie, Smokey the Barracuda. A smoked imperial porter that immediately one the prize of most appreciated beer of Utrecht in In collaboration with RUIG, we made the Ruige Haring, one of the first dutch IPA's fermented with the experimental Trois yeast. For our friends at the village we brewed the dangerously drinkable Jailbait (Anglo-American Pale Ale). Our latest beer, the Inktvis Black IPA, also received a very good reception. We have been brewing at other breweries up until now. But this practice always means pragmatic concessions, which is less than ideal. It often also obstructs working with specific yeasts and the creation of more experimental beers. This is why we have focused from the start on trying to get our own brewery. This is where we want to brew our pilot breweries on a large scale. Beers like St. Pilchardus Rye Bretted Saison, The Lactic Fantastic (Raspberry sour), The Hammerhead Coffee Stout (in collaboration with The Village Coffee) and the Twisted Kipper ( Trois IPA).

The Place We open our brewpub in the building of the VechtclubXL, a succesful breeding ground for creative entrepeneurs, such as designers, architects, musicians and artisans.

It also hosts the quality restaurant De Klub. The area is located in between two burroughs (Kanaleneiland and Rivierenbuurt) that houses an increasing number of young professionals. In coming years, this area will see a redevelopment as an atractive combined work-housing area.

4 We will brew and pour in the new hall of the VechtclubXL. Our space will consist of a brewery with a maximum capacity of 850 hectoliters per year and a tasting room that will seat at least 40 people with a nice terrace. Alongside us are housed a coffeeroaster (Nordkapp coffee), a bakery (Carla's Conditorei), a distributor of direct-from-the-farm products (Rechstreex) and a designer-flowershop (Rood & Bloem). The brewpub is the heart of De Kromme Haring, but with this capacity we can distribute our beers elsewhere and we will continue to use capacity at other breweries as well. We can't wait to start! The investment We already secured an important part of the needed investments, but we still really need your help to make this all happen. We are seeking an investment total of euros which we use for the transport and installation of our brewhouse and an extra investment in our tasting room. If we acquire the 200% target, we will have funds to gain extra experimental fermentation capacity and we will start the build of our yeast lab for quality control and the cultivation of house yeasts. Interest & perks Every investment will be repaid in 3 installments and is repaid in full after five years with a total interest of 20%

Take a friend and help us brew a beer. Learn about all the processes. After the brew day you'll drink beer with us and after the beer is done you'll take 3 boxes home and you are allowed to invite your friends to come and taste it at the brewery table. With the personalised glass and the party with goodie bag An exclusive invite for 2 persons to the big beer-food pairing arrangement, organised by De Klub and us and a brewery tour before. With the personalised glass and the party with goodie bag We develop with you and your team a new house beer, which we will brew with you. Including a tour and tasting tray for max. 10 persons. When the beer is finished, you'll get 200 liters for free. You'll also get an invite, goodie baf and glass. Crowdfunding & non-nl investments Crowdaboutnow is a dutch platform certified and licensed by the AFM. The investments will be transferred to Crowdaboutnow, and once the target of 100% is reached the investment is final. If this target is not reached all deposited funds will be returned to the investors. Crowdaboutnow only allows transactions via the dutch system of IDEAL, which needs a dutch bankaccount. We also offer alternative perks for those who are not able to visit the brewpub easily. Another brewery? The Dutch beer-scene is developing rapidly, with a new brewery seemingly starting every week. However in Utrecht there is a lack of places where people can actually go to enjoy good beers, with only two visitable breweries in the city and just a few specialised bars. We adress a young, and creative audience with our pub, alongside the tried and true beerfan. We will create an environment that is inviting to everyone with a sense of taste and

6 adventure. We are building our brewpub on a lot of experience and knowledge of product, recipes and barmanagement.
