Saaz and Strisselspalt hops are added in the boiling copper and as late hops for more aroma. Delicious hops from Alsace are found in use in our old recipe ledgers and are now being used again to create this Heritage brew. Herbal, citrus, floral and spicy notes add to the sweet malt taste for a more easy-drinking heritage ale. abv 5.0% SCRUM DOWN FEB Sweet malt character comes from the pale malt and some toffee character comes from the crystal malt. A little roasted barley adds a touch of astringency. Special yeast adds fruity esters. The hops give classic clean herbal and resin hop flavour with a moderate easy-drinking bitterness. abv 4.1% GRAND SLAM FEB Strong dry hop character comes from the challenger hops and some cascade adds grapefruit citrus on both aroma and taste. Sweet malt gives body and mouthfeel. Well-hopped recipe to produce a fairly high bitterness which gives a long dry finish. This light coloured ale kicks off with a citrus hop aroma.
