2 THE BEERS INSIDE YOUR Hello there, Equity Punk! Hopefully the sun is hanging high in the evenings where you are, giving you a chance to relax after a hard day with a beer or two. Summer really is the best season to be a beer drinker, and for proof just look to your latest BottleBox. Let s take a look inside! TINY REBEL GIN & JUICE We kick things off with the pride of Wales, Tiny Rebel, and of all their amazing beers the number one choice for a summer mixed case the botanical-infused pale ale Gin & Juice. Next up, the short journey to Somerset for Wild Beer Co Tom Yum Gose and we follow that with a much longer journey by swapping the West Country with Western North Carolina and a classic IPA, Hi-Wire Hi-Pitch. The fourth guest beer in this latest BottleBox is a refreshing sweet stout, Mantra Artisan Ales Japa. To follow that we end with a couple of big IPAs Reptile Dysfunction from Staggeringly Good and the mighty 11% ABV triple IPA Asterism from one of the breweries of the year, Burnt Mill. But that s only half the story. BottleBox exists to showcase our own beer too so what six beers have we included alongside these amazing examples? To lift up those long summer evenings we have a half-dozen epic beers from BrewDog, beginning with our tribute to experimental brewing Sonic Boom v2. For those nights when the sun doesn t last long we have also included our latest #ReBrewDog Alice Porter, and alongside that we also have for you a pair of highly-hopped heavyweights Jet Trash and our latest collaboration brew, Double A, created with Scofflaw Brewing from Atlanta. Finally, two even larger heavyweights Mallow Mafia, a 12% stout brewed alongside Norwegian pals Amundsen, and we end with our anniversary release, the 17% ABV Dog G. Cheers! James and Martin TINY REBEL Newport, South Wales is home to the mighty Tiny Rebel who have been ploughing their way through the Welsh beer hierarchy since they first mashed in back in A classic success story, the brewery co-founded in a garage (sound familiar?) by Gazz Williams and Brad Cummings have won multiple awards, brewed a huge amount of stunning beer and show absolutely no signs of slowing down. Since winning Champion Beer of Britain in 2015 for their Welsh Red Ale Cwtch they have simply gone from strength to strength. GIN & JUICE Tiny Rebel s summertime classic is just that; the juniper is evident right from the start, both on the nose and the taste, and the zesty peel fires away in unison with the hops. 3 SONIC BOOM V2 WILD BEER CO. TOM YUM GOSE SONIC BOOM V2 WILD BEER CO. TOM YUM GOSE Replacing our single-hop series, we are introducing a constantly-updated series of IPAs that allow our rock and roll brew team to investigate the glory of hops. As with IPA is Dead the base beer remains the same but unlike IPA is Dead all bets are off from then on. Different hops, sure, but Sonic Boom can also include new hopping techniques, experimental varieties, or whatever they want to do to evolve the beer each time round. The latest iteration harnesses the power of HBC 438, an experimental hop from the fields of the Yakima valley in Washington State. To let it shine our brewers added HBC 438 to the dry-hop stage and it results in a beer unlike any we have brewed before, majoring in flavours of bergamot, coconut, lime leaf; sticky pine sap lead into biting lemongrass on the finish. Style: IPA ABV: 6.5% Pair with: Pizza with chili flakes Malts: Pale, Carapils, Wheat Hops: Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, HBC 438, Simcoe They may only be twenty-five miles to Bristol, but more than any other brewery around at the moment, Wild Beer Co embrace their countryside location. Wild ingredients are more than just a philosophy for cofounders Andrew Cooper and Brett Ellis; they form the backbone of their beers. This approach results in a range of styles and interpretations, and beers like this Gose are the result. Brewed without hops, the Somerset wild yeast has been combined with eight added ingredients in what is in their words a weird and wonderful beer. Where to start with this one? It contains every sensation your tongue can experience (aside from sweet). The heat from the chili and Szechuan peppercorns builds and replaces the salty tang of the Gose in a truly fascinating beer. Country: England Style: Gose ABV: 4.0% Pair with: Pad Thai Hops: None Extras: Red chili, Galangal, Sea Salt, Kaffir lime leaf, Szechuan peppercorns, coriander seed, lime juice, lemon-grass

4 ALICE PORTER HI-WIRE HI-PITCH IPA ALICE PORTER HI-WIRE HI-PITCH IPA We love turning the clock back to beers that predate our move to Ellon, and Alice Porter is one of our most popular of those. It sold out in double quick time when launched at our flagship bar in Aberdeen (the only BrewDog Bar in existence at the time). Rejuvenated as part of our #ReBrewDog celebrations, Alice is enigmatic dark alchemy at its finest a roasty porter brewed with Sorachi Ace, as was the original that was first brewed on a freezing Fraserburgh afternoon back in Alice takes a sudden twist in an unexpected direction; a blend of hops that add a light, balancing citrusy twist and a subtle spiciness. This robust roasty porter has smooth and full-bodied mouthfeel while the addition of Sorachi Ace brings in a hint of vanilla alongside notes of citrus, spice and dark fruits. Style: Porter ABV: 6.2% Pair with: Roasted garlic Camembert Hops: First Gold, Magnum, Sorachi Ace Malts: Brown, Chocolate Wheat, Crystal, Dark Crystal, Munich, Oats, Pale, Wheat Asheville has more breweries per capita than anywhere else in the United States with 38 for its 90,000 people (at time of press). What this means is that those who ply their trade in such a competitive town need to be either balanced and approachable or offthe-charts crazy. Or like Hi-Wire; both. They have a Big Top facility outside the city for their range of lagers and pale ales and a smaller city-centre location for barrel-aged sours and wild ales. Hi-Pitch is from the former a classic West Coast IPA brewed in North Carolina. The quintessential WCIPA staples of citrus and pine are there but the Mosaic hops also add a fruity melon vibe in the beer to round it out even more. Bright, balanced and hugely drinkable even at near-7% ABV. Country: USA Style: IPA ABV: 6.7% Pair with: Chicken Parmesan IBU: 65 Hops: Mosaic, Centennial

5 JET TRASH MANTRA ARTISAN ALES JAPA PINK IPA MANTRA ARTISAN ALES JAPA Hop-forward beers from the West Coast are ones we return to time and again. The reason is simple we firmly believe every now and again you need to roll up the sleeves and raid the hop store. Our new wild card release is just such a beer and taking point is the hop that made Sierra Nevada a household name. Cascade sits front and centre as the focal point of a colossal dry-hopping programme but the malt bill gives a broader presence than in our other hop-forward IPAs. Jet Trash carries fresh grassy and zesty grapefruit aromas into a tropical flavour, but also introduces a toasty, balanced malt bill. This acts as a point of balance for the pine, resin and citrus and rounds the beer out perfectly. Style: IPA ABV: 7.5% Pair with: Seared Bavette Steak Malts: Pale, Munich, Cara Red, Dextrin Hops: Centennial, Simcoe, Chinook, Citra, Mosaic Just three years ago brewers Derrick Morse and Chad Frost returned to their native Tennessee (from Colorado and Berlin respectively) to partner up on a brewery of their own. The guys joined with TV Chef Maneet Chauhan and Mantra Artisan Ales was born. The owner of an Ale and Masala House in downtown Nashville, Maneet is the inspiration behind many of Mantra s Indian-themed beers, all of which are designed to pair with food. The addition of unusual ingredients makes Mantra one of the most under-rated breweries in the US. Three different dark malts and oats combine to give a deep, velvety flavour that forms the perfect launch-pad for the Indian spice cardamom, clove and nutmeg are there and lead into the aftertaste beautifully Country: USA Style: Milk Stout ABV: 6.0% Pair with: Chocolate Sponge Cake IBU: 20 Extras: Chai Spices

6 STAGGERINGLY GOOD DOUBLE A One of the hottest breweries in the US right now are the pride of Atlanta, Scofflaw Brewing Company. Matt and Travis made the long journey from the Peach State to Aberdeenshire in April so we hooked up on a beer style all of us know and love. Riffing on the nickname for Atlanta ( The A ) we added a second A courtesy of our home city and then doubled up a pale ale into a kick-ass 9.5% ABV Double IPA. No messing around, this one is an aggressive, down-thepipes DIPA. REPTILE DYSFUNCTION DOUBLE A Big hits of resin, pine and grapefruit courtesy of a five-strong dry hop schedule lead into a driving bitterness to pair with that sticky resin. A shadow of toastiness from the Pale, Munich and Cara Red malt offsets the huge hop profile. But only a little. Style: Double IPA ABV: 9.5% Pair with: BBQ saucetoting cheeseburger IBU: 70 Hops: Simcoe, Chinook, Centennial, Citra, Comet, Cascade STAGGERINGLY GOOD There are breweries out there for people that love beer and sport (Land Grant) or beer and the outdoors (Wild Beer Co) but very few well, maybe only one for people that love beer and dinosaurs. If you tick both of those boxes then Staggeringly Good are the brewery for you. They started out four years ago at a Portsmouth brewpub and then relocated to a facility of their own a year later. Founded by three dino-loving friends their flagship is called Staggersaurus but for this BottleBox we have a brand new IPA with a difference. REPTILE DYSFUNCTION A juice bomb with a kick. This beer is fruity at first with the tropical hit from the mango and passion fruit but the Habanero is just waiting for its chance to strike. There s no point in running. Country: England Style: IPA ABV: 6.8% Pair with: Spinach and Feta Tacos Hops: Citra Extras: Mango, Passion Fruit, Milk Sugars, Habanero Chili

7 X AMUNDSEN MALLOW MAFIA BURNT MILL ASTERISM MALLOW MAFIA BURNT MILL ASTERISM A concept brew that came out of our European collaboration series. We welcomed over our friends from Norway, Amundsen with open arms when they agreed to brew a beer with us. We put our heads together which resulted us in putting 2 of our beers together Cocoa Psycho and their Marshmallow Psycho. This is a big stout with a lot of attitude but still, it drinks like a dream. It s intensely rich and dark, packed with aromas and flavours of toasted marshmallow, coffee, bitter cacao and hints of woodsmoke. The smooth but full mouthfeel of a chocolate ganache will replicate itself in the body of the beer as it lands on the palate, followed by a satisfying and decadent finish. Style: Russian Imperial Stout ABV: 12% Pair with: S mores Malts: Pale, Munich, Extra Dark Crystal, Chocolate, Brown, Black, Wheat, Flaked Oats Extras: Demerara Sugar, Coldbrew Coffee, Cocoa Nibs, Marshmallow Extract A 2,500 square foot barn in Suffolk is home to Burnt Mill, located halfway between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. They started out life in mid-2017 and have since become one of the hottest new breweries anywhere, forging ahead with their distinctively striking cans. To celebrate their first birthday, Burnt Mill head brewer Sophie de Ronde recently dialled up a colossal triple IPA and named it after a nearobsolete typographical symbol depicted as three stars (or its alternative meaning; a group of stars in the night sky) Orange is the order of the day here, sticky and sweet and paired with a biscuity, almost toffeelike malt backbone. The Citra then gives more of a zesty citrus edge before the beer ends in an envelope of boozy warmth. Country: England Style: Tripple IPA ABV: 11% Pair With: Cajun rubbed ribs Malts: Extra Pale, Wheat, Flaked Oats Hops: Columbus, Citra, Cryo Citra, Simcoe, Centennial, Chinook

Dog G traces its lineage back to Abstrakt AB:04 but has been given yet another new twist. Since we began barrel-ageing our liquid anniversary releases we have embraced a few different barrels Dog G is all about the rye. The whiskey that won the West is front and centre alongside the piledriving ingredients, and lights the touchpaper for the second Decade of Dog. We ll drink to that. DOG G An imposingly dark and captivating stout, redolent of molasses, spiced cocoa, affogato and chocolate-covered raisins. A complex aroma with the richness of a stout entangled with the warming character of rye barrels oak, vanilla, spice and whiskey warmth.
