Sattelei Our hiking hut Sattelei is daily opened for you days a year. Meeting point: curling alley a.m. Walk with Rolf Wein: The pastures from Bosenstein This hike, which requires good shoes and a safe step, begins at the Ruhestein and leads us through a beautiful old forest, to the inn Kernhof, located in a peaceful valley. Before reaching it, coming out of the forest, we will be surprised by a grand view of the highland pastures, telling us that the snack is not far off. Distance: 9 km. Here we enjoy wonderful views over the Murg valley and even the hotel Bareiss, because of a storm that uprooted many trees allowing now a clear view. Continuing on slightly but steadily uphill going paths, we reach the Walterhütte where we stop for a short break. Finally we start our way back downhill towards the hotel. Distance: 8 km. Only those who know the history of the Black Forest will understand the significance of the heathlands. Distance: 5 km. Easy to medium level with one somewhat stony section. Rottweil is the oldest town in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is also home to Germany s highest viewing platform, a joint venture between Rottweil council and Thyssenkrupp. Since 13 October 2017, one has been able to enjoy wonderful views all the way to the Alps from a height of 232 m. Thyssenkrupp uses the tower, which also offers the highest meeting and conference facilities in Germany, to test its latest lifts. Costs: 30,-, entrance fee included.
