Sattelei Our hiking hut Sattelei is daily opened for you days a year. We walk up to the Wildsee and from there on to the Darmstädter Cabin, where we will take a short break. Then we continue up the Seensteig to the Altsteiger Kopf at 1092 m. We walk a short distance until we reach the Ellbachseeblick. From this observation deck we can enjoy a beautiful view over the Ellbachsee and the Black Forest. Then, on nature paths, we continue to the Ellbachsee, one of the kettle lakes in the Black Forest that emerged in the last Ice Age. Lastly we will walk back to the hotel Bareiss from the idyllic Ellbach lake, by walking mostly over descending hiking ways. Firm footwear is recommended. Distance: 12 km.
