Sattelei Our hiking hut Sattelei is daily opened for you days a year. The Ulme is also called the Elm or Elme in southwest Germany. During our snack break, we can find out whether this type of tree still grows up here. We children of Mitteltal were mostly out on the Elme in autumn to collect the prickly fruit of the horse chestnuts that were there at the time. We continue to the Bismarck Cabin and past the Kaisertanne, onto the Guldenbergwegle path back down into the valley. 7 Thursday, 8 February a.m. Dirk van der Koelen takes your reservations in our Ferienecke a.m. Walk in the National Park with a Ranger of the National Park: Wild meadows on the Schliffkopf The open heathlands on the Schliffkopf with 1,400 hectares the largest nature conservation area in the northern Black Forest offers wonderful views of the northern Black Forest as well as fascinating facts and colourful anecdotes about its typical inhabitants. More than almost anywhere else, nature and culture are tightly interwoven here. The tour will provide an insight into this special habitat and explain many hitherto unknown facts about the National Park and its importance. Distance: 5 km.
