Sattelei Our hiking hut Sattelei is daily opened for you days a year. It takes us some way along the Geological Trail, past the old Rotmurgschanze over the Kraftenbuckel and the Röhrsberghalde, to the Wolkenhütte. One has an impressive view from here of the Upper Murg Valley all the way to Baiersbronn. Our return route leads us back to the starting point. Distance: 9 km. Skillfully composed interactive topic boards along the path provide information on the traditional farming and how the landscape has changed over the course of centuries. Three themed areas on the landscape-forming elements of water, wood and stone entice hikers to linger. Distance: 11.5 km, medium level. Walking speed: 3.5 km/h. Halfway we will have a break, to refresh ourselves, before ending our main journey in the little town Forbach. There we will hop on the train going back to Baiersbronn train station from where we will only have a very little drive back. Distance: 45 km. Return: 3.30 p.m. Meeting point: bicycle cellar. Please take your guest-card with you, and make your reservation a.m. Theme walk to the Morlokhof. Hannes Bareiss is pleased to accompany you on a short walk to our jewel the farm Morlokhof. During the walk he will tell you interesting facts about the Bareiss hunting ground and the angling area of the Morloks. From Oberkirch we continue to Durbach. We take a break at the Staufenberg castle enthroned above the village with its famous winegrowers co-operative. Please register a.m. Walk with nature pedagogue Frank Gaiser: From Mitteltal to Obertal First our way leads us over a short ascension of the Eulengrund valley to the game reserve. Once we have reached it, we turn west and walk on beautiful scenic paths along the edge of the forest as far as the neighbour village Obertal. Finally we follow the course of the river Murg back to the hotel. Distance: 8 km. Walking speed: 3.5 km/h, easy level. Return: approx p.m. Meeting point: Gästetreff. This will allow you to learn more about the city in a unique way the City Museum, the legendary Lichtentaler Allée or the Kurmuschel all these places will mean something to you after this journey. We then cross the Ilgenbach with its lovely cascades. From here the path leads us to the Walterhütte pleasure area via the Spinnenbrunnen. After a rest with a magnificent view of Mitteltal and Obertal we set off back to the hotel via the Felsenwegle path, passing the historic Tannenfels ruins, the Mitteltal natural pool and finally taking the Dammweg again down the Murg Valley.
