8 Q. How much is the cost of the room? There is a 75 room hire charge to pay for the upstairs function room. There is no charge for the hire of the raised bar area. There is a refundable 75 which applies to both the upstairs function room and the raised bar area. Q. Is there a minimum spend? There isn t a minimum spend for our downstairs area however we require a spend of at least 350 to hire the upstairs room. This spend can be made up of food and drink. Q. If I make a provisional booking today, how much do I have to pay? Nothing right away! However we do ask for the 75 room hire and 75 deposit to be paid within 14 days of making a provisional booking. Unfortunately we do not accept cheques as form of payment. All Payment must be paid on the night of your event and cannot be invoiced later. Q. When can I get my deposit back? This is returned to you on the day of your event, you ll be given a till receipt when paying the deposit / room hire. Please bring this with you to your event in order to redeem your deposit. Q. Is the room for my exclusive use? It sure is! The upstairs function room has its own bar all to yourself all evening. Access to our glorious roof terrace is shared throughout the venue. Fri Sat we have a licence until 2am with Sun Thur 12am. If you think you will require a later licence for a midweek event, please let us know. Q. Is the roof terrace open all night? In order for our neighbours to get a sound night s sleep, we have to close the roof terrace at 11pm. Q. Do you have car parking facilities? There is a large pay and display directly behind Nancy s Bordello, which becomes free of charge after 6pm.

9 Q. Can we use outside caterers? Unfortunately not, however you re more than welcome to bring cakes / cupcakes etc. Q. When can I order food? The sooner the better however, food orders must be made no later than a week prior to your event however minor tweaks to numbers can be made up to 48 hours beforehand. Q. Can I have my own music playing in the function room? Sure thing!! There is a sound system within the room which is compatible with mp3 s and/or smart phones. We also have the facilities if you would like a DJ or band playing. Please contact us on to discuss further Q. Do you allow 18 th birthday parties? We do from Sunday Thursday however they must be supervised by a responsible adult. If no adult can attend over the age 25, then we have to hire a door supervisor, in which the function organiser must cover the cost. Q. Do you allow candles within the venue? We do not allow naked flames anywhere within the venue, we have a limited supply of electric tea lights. However guests are more than welcome to bring their own. Q. Does that mean I can bring my own decorations? Bingo! However no decorations can be stuck to our fancy expensive wallpaper! Q. Can I arrive before my event to set up? No worries at all, please let us know what time you would like to arrive, we will lock the upstairs function room if you wish to leave any belongings in there. Access for the raised bar area for decorations can be made 1 hour before. Q. What happens if you don t have the date I want? Please call us on as we will happily pass your details onto one of our other venues to check their availability.

10 Terms & Conditions General 1. Due to licensing laws we do not permit our guests to consume their own alcohol onto the premises. 2. We operate a strict Challenge 21 policy, in accordance with the guidelines set by Northumbria Police. We recommend that anyone fortunate enough to look under 21 brings along their photographic driving license or passport. We hope we do not cause offence to all those not asked for ID. 3. We do not permit anyone under the age of 18 to be on the premises after 10pm. If your party includes anyone under the age of 18 it is your duty to inform us prior to the party. 4. We cannot take responsibility for any lost property and do not have a cloakroom facility on site. 5. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your experience with us, please let us know at the time so we can resolve the situation for you. Financial 6. We can provisionally hold areas for up to 14 days, after this we will try and contact you. However if we have not received your deposit in this time we reserve the right to cancel your booking. 7. You have a 14 day cooling off period during which you can cancel and your deposit will be returned. After this date all deposits and final payments are non- refundable and non transferable. 8. When claiming your deposit after your function you must present us with the receipt given to you at the time of payment. Dining 9. Due to food preparation laws, all food consumed on our premises must have been prepared by us. At the discretion of management, we may allow you to provide cakes or sweets. 10. Menus are subject to change, in the unlikely event that this does happen your party will be informed. 11. We are happy to accept alterations to pre orders up to 72 hours before your booking. All alterations must be requested by and outstanding balances must be paid before the booking date or at the beginning of your function. 12. Buffets can only be left out for 2 hours due to health safety regulations.
