Whether the occasion is a milestone birthday, corporate function, anniversary, wedding or anything in between our aim is to help you create the perfect event hassle free. The hotel boasts a fully functioning restaurant with kid s room, gaming room with 40 gaming machines and keno as well as motel style accommodation all within close walking distance to the Mackay C.B.D. We have a variety of options available, catering for all events and budgets. You dream it, we do it The Function Room Our main function room is perfect for large events. The room offers privacy, a flexible layout as well as access to a large projector screen and microphone making it versatile for any type of event. Depending on the layout this area has ample room for a band or DJ and plenty of room for a dance floor. Seated meal: maximum capacity 130 pax Cocktail style: maximum capacity 150 pax Conference: from pax The V I P Function Area This intimate space is located off the main function room and is perfect for smaller events such as corporate meetings or presentations, special occasion meals and cocktail and canapé styled events. 3 Function Terms and Conditions Functions at The Metropolitan Hotel The Metropolitan Hotel caters for Weddings, Anniversaries, Work Functions, Christmas Parties, Christenings, Family Functions, Birthdays and plenty more. Credit card imprint will be required for any 21st or 18th birthday celebrations. This is for security purposes, should any damages occur during these functions. If you have any queries regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us. Tentative Booking: The Metropolitan Hotel will only hold a tentative booking for a maximum of 7 days. The confirmation of your booking will be recognised once a signed booking form and a deposit has been received by the hotel. Deposits & Room Hire: Room hire charge is determined on your function needs and final numbers. The actual room hire charge is negotiable at the time of booking and confirmed in writing where possible. Charges are as follows: -Under 50 people $150 -Over 50 people: No hire fee Please note if there is a dramatic decrease in numbers from the original attendance estimation, additional hire charges may apply. Functions held on public holidays will incur a flat hire fee of $150. Numbers will not affect this hire charge on a public holiday. Once a booking is made, the room hire deposit of $200 for the function must be paid to secure the function date and area. Failure to do so may result in another booking being secured for your preferred date. This fee is considered a deposit to confirm your booking, and will be deducted from your total function cost. Payments: All payments must be made through cash, eftpos, or credit card (Amex and Diners are accepted). We do not, unfortunately, accept cheques. Full payment for functions must be made no later than ten days prior to the function date. If payment is not made within this time, the date and area will become available to hire again. Room hire will be non-refundable apon payment should you choose to cancel your function. The room hire is transferable if the revised date is confirmed 30 days prior to your booked function date. Should the event be cancelled within 48 hours of the event date 100% of food cost will be charged in addition. Choosing your Menu & Final Numbers: To ensure all your needs are met, we require confirmation of your menu selection 14 days prior to your function date. This ensures our chef is able to order all the necessary produce to put your desired menu together. If you would like to alter the menu or have any special requests, please do not hesitate to contact us. Confirmation of final number of guests is required ten days prior to the function date. Function costs will be based on the final numbers given at this time. Minimum spend for food with functions over 50 people is $10.00 per person. There are no refunds or waived fees for any guest not present on the day. Security: If the function has 60 or more people attending, a security Guard must be present. The security guard must be present for the whole function from open till close. T he minimum cost for Security is $250 to be paid 7 days prior to function. Beverages & Liquor: Hosts may choose to have a bar tab or allow guests to pay for their drinks individually. A pre-paid tab amount can be organised with restrictions on which drinks can be purchased. This amount can also be increased during the function as needed. House policy prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages on premises, other than those supplied by The Metropolitan Hotel. All drinks supplied must be consumed on premises. The Metropolitan Hotel staff are all trained in Responsible Service of Alcohol and will follow through on any breach of code or policy. Intoxication: The Metropolitan Hotel practices Responsible Service of Alcohol in accordance with Queensland licensing laws and enforced responsible drinking practices. Unduly intoxicated guests will not be permitted on premise by law and will be asked to leave. Minors: Minors must be under direct supervision whilst on the premises. In accordance with Licensing laws, the service and supply of alcohol to minors will not be tolerated. Those found breaking the law will be asked to leave with no exceptions. Damages: Any damage which occurs on the premises during your function, either accidental or incidental, must be paid for. Breakages or damage to the building will be invoiced directly to the client. Cancellations: The Room Hire Fee is non-refundable. However it is transferable to another suitable date, should you give a minimum of three weeks notice. Should you wish to cancel your function ten days or less prior to your function date, you will be required to pay the full function cost, less any bar tab. Surcharge: A Surcharge of 10% will apply to all meals on any public holiday. Advertising: The Metropolitan Hotel must first approve any advertising undertaken for an event held at the venue, we reserve the right to refuse any private event advertising. The metropolitan Hotel reserves the right to terminate any event booking and retain the deposit paid where the event organisers breach these conditions.
