2 A slice of OUR FOUNDER HISTORY PETER BOIZOT In the A slice of Obsessive g When it comes to our ingredients, we don t compromise. Take our tomato sauce, for example. It s tasty, right? That s because it s made by people who care about the best quality produce just as much as we do. On a li le trip to Parma in Italy, our founder, Peter, met the Greci brothers. Impressed by the standard of their tomato harvest he appointed the family-run farm with the task of making his recipe. For decades, he personally visited the farm to give the sauce his seal of approval. We think you ll agree, they ve mastered passata perfection. When our founder Peter visited London in 1965 and realised great pizza didn t exist there, he soon returned a man on a mission armed with a pizza oven from Napoli and a chef from Sicily. And when the oven was too big to fit through the door of his first restaurant on London s Wardour Street, he rounded up friends to help him knock the wall down. Oven in, Peter created a menu of deliciously simple pizza recipes. 50 years on, we ve taken some of these classic recipes and fine-tuned the flavours even further to give you a delicious taste of tradition. Aptly named as the Pizza 65s, these dishes won t be around forever so there s no be er time to break away from your old favourite and give something (not so) new a try... HISTORY TOMATOEY GREATNESS To this day, our famous sauce has been made to the same recipe and supplied by the Greciu family for over 25 years. Well, if it ain t broke Meet the PIZZAIOLOS Our chefs, we call them Pizzaiolos (that s pronounced peez-i-oh-lows ). You ve probably noticed the striped superstars tossing pizza bases high in our open kitchens (that helps get the shape, texture and thickness of your base just right, by the way). Our talented Pizzaiolos go through rigorous training to learn everything they need to know to make your pizza perfect. And do you know what? They wouldn t have it any other way. Proud perfectionists, they love working with fresh, quality produce. Produce that makes the best-tasting pizzas. OUR HEROES PIZZAIOLOS So hats off to our wonderful Pizzaiolos.
