If you use your chopsticks to pick at a communal dish, use the back end of your chopsticks. 2. The pickled ginger serves as a palate refresher not as a salad. the taste is quit strong, and these are only meant to be taken in small doses between the dishes. 3. Used originally in the 19th century to kill parasites in the sushi fish, it is a common misconception that wasabi is a Japanese horseradish. 7. Sushi is finger food.
