The deceased's vessel was unloading coals in the creek. The deceased, who was an old man, belonged to Maidstone, but was in the employ of Mr Haymen, of Rochester. He is supposed to have accidentally fallen from his vessel in the night. An inquest is to be held this evening at the Star Hotel. Unfortunately the inquest was not reported in the next week's paper, and the original Coroner's records do not survive, so no further details are available.
