2 WELCOME to Christmas at Horsted Place This lovely Victorian Country house is the perfect place to spend a restful few days at Christmas time. At Horsted Place we like our guests to feel at home and indeed many return each year to enjoy our recipe for a relaxing Christmas break fine food and wines, luxuriously comfortable rooms and a warm welcome. You may stay for as many or as few nights as you wish and partake in the meals and events which suit you best. If you are visiting family and friends locally rooms may be booked simply on a bed and breakfast basis. For those who wish to enjoy all that Horsted Place has to offer we have a two night Christmas package, starting on Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve Arrive on Christmas Eve in time for afternoon tea or join your fellow guests in the evening for a Champagne reception during which the Ashdown Singers will perform carols on the grand staircase in the Long Gallery. After a sumptuous four course dinner you may like to walk by torchlight through the gardens to midnight service at Little Horsted s pretty little Norman church of St Michael and All Angels. Mulled wine and mince pies by the log fire will warm you on your return. Non-residents are most welcome to book for Christmas Eve Dinner. Christmas Day Christmas Day luncheon* is a leisurely five course affair prepared by Head Chef Allan Garth and his team. This is preceded by a glass of Champagne in the Drawing Room. A lazy afternoon in front of a log fire, opening Christmas presents in your suite or playing traditional board games is followed by a buffet supper in the evening. Boxing Day On Boxing Day you may feel like taking some exercise - perhaps a set or two of tennis on our allweather court or a round of golf at the nearby East Sussex National. Here the two championship courses may be played at preferential rates and the fully equipped gym and indoor swimming pool are available free of charge to Horsted Place guests. Or you could just curl up with a good book - the choice is yours. Luncheon and dinner will be served in the restaurant as usual. On Boxing Day evening our resident pianist chairs a light hearted musical quiz around the grand piano before dinner. * for menu please see Page 8 2

5 Festive Dining Horsted Place will be beautifully and traditionally decorated for Christmas throughout December. Come and relax in our comfortable Drawing Room, in front of a log fire on a chilly day, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Festive Luncheon The menu changes weekly here is an example:- Between 3rd and 24th December our Head Chef Allan Garth prepares a festive lunch menu served in our restaurant on Monday-Friday lunch- times:- Two courses per person Three courses per person This menu is also available for parties of between ten and twenty two guests in one of our elegant private rooms on weekdays only. There is no room hire charge but menus must be chosen and advised in advance. These must be pre-chosen. For more information about private dining please contact our Banqueting Department. We are pleased to offer the organiser of all Christmas Dinner parties a luxurious night in a complimentary bedroom (1st 22nd December only, excluding Saturdays).
