For more info on Sunset Ramblers and earlier newsletters, go to The June campout was at Ward s Fun Rally at Southern Palms RV Resort in Eustis, Fl. June The theme was Outwit, Outlast, and Outplay. Jean Bogardus, Bruce and Janet Duval, Bob and Sarah Edmondson, Rich and Pam Frederick, Rich Gavin, George and Lorretta Redderoth, and Ken and Sherrie Risberg camped. Bob and Sarah, Rich and Pam, and George and Lorretta arrived on Sunday. Jean and Rich G. arrived on Monday. Ken and Sherrie arrived late on Tuesday. Bruce and Janet arrived early Thursday afternoon. Tuesday everyone gathered at the building for the dessert potluck, the basic information about the Survivor Fun Rally, and a game of Dime Card Bingo. Wednesday morning people met at the building to select teams, receive their buffs, and their worms. The worms had to be assigned names and kept with the teams throughout the rally. What a great opportunity to meet people and make new friends! Teams gathered to choose a team name and a name for their worm and to create name tags. Five women were then selected to write an autobiography for their worm. Five men were selected to hum a tune while the ladies read the autobiographies. This would take place at Saturday night closing festivities. The first Survivor Challenge was to put 2 puzzles together upside down. The winners were the Misfits and the Winners. The other teams were the Crawlers, Worm Slayers, Wild Ones, and Orange Crush. Everyone enjoyed the noon salad potluck. Next, a volunteer from each team had to remove raisins from peanut butter on a log (A container held by another team member) with his/her mouth. The Misfits won removing 90 raisins. There were services by the pond followed by playing cards or I Need It. Thursday everyone met with their torches, worms, and name tags for Reba s Redneck waffles, pancakes, and sausages. Thanks to Reba and Bob for supplying everything and to all of the volunteer cooks including George the pancake maker! A photo scavenger hunt ( Winners took first place.) which included the flea market next door. Chinese Handcuffs was in the afternoon. Services were held by the Witch Doctor by the pond followed by playing Sevens or I need It. Friday morning started with a potluck breakfast. (Jean left right after.) The first

2 Page 2 game had the team leader unwrapping a ball that had layers of goodies between layers of plastic wrap. The person to the right rolled dice until he/she got doubles. This continued until the ball was completely unwrapped. The Southern Palms staff was then serenaded by six teams singing Old McDonald. Then the 21 survivors took turns knocking 3 water bottle caps off the tables. One person had a blindfold, pantyhose with tennis balls in a leg behind their back and some tied around their chest. Another person guided him/her. Semi final elimination challenge came next and included eating peanut butter crackers and then whistling. Playing dime card bingo finished the night. Saturday the remaining twelve survivors gathered at the pool. The challenges included torches, ice water, and ice and reduced the number of survivors to six. Three teams of two each were formed. The witch doctor gave out new, healthy, fat worms. They played Survivor Trivia until the Misfits won. The final elimination challenge was to follow an obstacle course. The two remaining finalists were to have a playoff after the Italian potluck. Sunset Rambler Rich G. took first place. Congratulations, Rich G.! The previously chosen ladies read their worms autobiographies accompanied by men humming. Staff entertainment followed. Sunday morning several folks went to the Mason Jar for breakfast. Everyone said Goodbye to chapter members and to old and new friends. Heat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Pour melted butter into un- greased 13 by b 9 inch glass baking dish. 3. Separate both cans of dough into 16 rolls; set icing aside. 4. Pineapple Sunshine Cake By Vicki Smith Ward Fun Rally Ingredients: 1 box yellow cake mix 4 eggs 1/2 c. oil 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice Icing: 1 (8 oz.) container whipped topping, thawed 1 small instant vanilla pudding 1 ( 8 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Spray a 13 by 9 pan with cooking spray. 3. Combine cake mix, eggs, oil, and one can pineapple with juice. 4. Pour into baking pan and Bake for minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. 5. Allow to cool completely. 6. Fold together whipped topping, pudding, and can of pineapple with juice. 7. Spread over the cooled cake.
