3 Cost of Admission Admission to all walk-in gates -- $3 per adult; $2 per child (a child is 12 years of age and under); preschool is free. These admission charges prevail unless lesser charges are advertised at special times. Free Parking in designated areas. General Rules & Regulations 1. The Vernon Parish Fair officially opens at 3 pm, Wednesday, the week of the fair. 2. Pick up exhibits Sunday, 6-8 pm and Monday, 4-7 pm after the fair. 3. The Vernon Parish Fair reserves to its Board of Directors the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and arbitrarily settle and determine all matters, questions, and differences in regard thereto or otherwise arising out of, connected with or incident to the fair. 4. The Board of Directors reserves the right to amend or add to these rules as they, in their judgment, may deem advisable. 5. No premium will be awarded when the article is unworthy. In cases where only one exhibit is being exhibited in a section, the judge will make his award in accordance with the merits of the exhibit being exhibited, which may be first, second, third, etc. No premium will be awarded in any department except as definitely stated in this premium list. Decision of the judges will be final. 6. In no case will the Vernon Parish Fair Board of Directors be held responsible for any loss, damage, injury, or death or disease of any character, to any such property or persons, while same is on the Fairgrounds. 7. Only exhibits made since last year s fair can be entered. No repeat entries. Welcome to Vernon Parish The Vernon Parish Fair Board welcomes everyone to the 2017 West Louisiana Forestry Festival and Fair. We would like to extend a special welcome home to our troops returning from deployment, and a thank you and all servicemen and women for your service to our country. Please enjoy this time of fellowship with your local community, and know that the sacrifices made by you and your families are greatly appreciated. Entry Procedure 1. All exhibitors must fill out an entry tag for each item entered and a summary sheet on all entries (one summary sheet per exhibitor). 2. All exhibitors must be from Vernon Parish and will be responsible for entering, displaying, maintaining and removing their exhibits. 3. Entries in exhibit building will be received Saturday, September 30 from 8 am to 5 pm and Sunday, October 1 from 1 pm to 5 pm. No late entries will be accepted. Any other cut flower Section 3 Photography Note: No exhibit can be purchased and shown The photo contest entry will consist of one (1) picture (print) of size 8 x 10. Pictures should not be mounted. Each picture shall have a one-line title, written on the back of a fair label. The label shall be completed and taped to the back of the picture. All pictures must be taken by the exhibitor. Any picture in which the exhibitor appears must be explained on back of the print (written lightly in pencil) giving the technique used. The title shall be 1/2 inch from the top and 1 inch in height. Mounting shall start 2 inches from the top and 2 inches from the left. In the lower right-hand corner, the exhibitor shall print his name, age, 4-H club, parish and post office. Advanced leaf collections should be made according to directions in the 4-H Forestry Project Book. That is: A. Each specimen mounted individually on material 8 ½ x 11 inches exhibited in a loose leaf ring binder. B. A label about 2 ½ x 3 inches in size shall be glued at the lower right-hand corner.
