1 Sandy Senior Scene Sandy, Oregon Gateway to Mt. Hood May & June 2016 Sandy Senior Center ~ Established April 15, 1974 Located in the Melvin N. Haneberg Community Center Pioneer Blvd., Sandy, OR Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday/Phone: Fax: Funded by: City of Sandy/Clackamas County/State of Oregon Senior & Disabled Services/Older Americans Act Dear Friends ~ After much thought and discussion we have decided to close down our pie booth at the Sandy Mountain Festival. We enjoy wonderful support through donations of fruit and many willing hands to help bake the pies. It has become increasingly difficult to find enough volunteers to set up, take down and staff the pie booth for the two-day festival. Will we still bake pies? You bet! The number of Meals-on-Wheels delivered has increased 150% over the past five years. It is vital we continue to raise money to support this valuable service. Please use the form on the flip side of this page to order your favorite fruit pie. Pie baking will take place on Thursday, July 7th. You can pick up your selection, or we will deliver, on Friday, July 8th. If you are pie shy but want to help your local home-delivered meal program, please consider making a financial donation. Last year volunteer drivers delivered 15,000 meals in the Sandy/Boring/ Damascus area. Please call me ( ) or stop by my office if you have any questions. Thanks for your ongoing support, Nancy Membership & Newsletter The annual newsletter/membership renewal form is included in this issue. Once again there is an option to receive the newsletter via . Please complete the form and submit it even if you plan to receive the newsletter electronically. Remember, your membership donation earns a spot on the birthday page and bulletin board and helps sustain the programs and services offered at the Center. Thanks for your support.
