CODEFA MARSEILLE is certified IFS version 6 since 2005, certified by Ecocert for its organic line, and holds 1301 N/O accreditation for packing origin-specific oils. A DECISIVE ENCOUNTER The start of 2016 marks a turning point in the life of the CODEFA MARSEILLE company, with the passing of the historical founding directors. The couple s four children must make decisions and forecasts for the future. Very quickly, the family-run group has a decisive encounter, in meeting Maurice Roméo. CEO of HBS, a company in the same sector, Roméo is a selftaught entrepreneur, an atypical and passionate manager. It was a meeting of minds, and it quickly became obvious that a collaboration between the two would be the next step. CODEFA MARSEILLE and HBS are complementary and the possibilities are endless. With the agreement signed between HBS and CODEFA, Maurice Roméo strengthened his organization with a pilot factory certified IFS V6, thus completing the Quality-Food Safety orientation that the group had taken by developing ISO on its main site.

Its know-how is selecting different oils and enhancing them to meet the expectations of its customers and consumers. Codefa Marseille performs this meticulous work in compliance with standards and regulations as well as the expectations of the market; and in collaboration with producers who have become key players in the industry over the course of time. Three packaging lines complete the Marseilles structure and make it the pilot oil mill that both creates specialty oils for its own brand or for others. Large groups and smaller companies are part of its clientele. Today, the SME seeks to unveil its true identity and share its know-how by affirming its position as a major player in the oil and sauce market. All the means necessary for accomplishing this goal are being mobilized. The ushering-in of the new generation of management, directors and department heads 30 years younger than the previous set, certainly play a part in this new dynamic. 6 TERR IR A SELECTION FROM OUR OLIVE OIL EXPERTS FRANCE S TERROIR France is a small olive oil producing country whose cultivation zones are located on the Mediterranean rim. 75% of French production is packaged as extra virgin olive oil labeled as French origin, and 25% of production is designated PDO or PGI. PDO : Protected Denomination of Origin. PGI : Protected Geographic Indication. Only certain designations offer adequate volumes that allow commercialization to be extended, and our olive oil experts have made the choice to offer four designations of oils from the largest French production area, Provence. They include the extra virgin olive oil from the Baux de Provence Valley PDO, the Haute Provence PDO, the Nyons Drôme Provençale PDO, the Provence PDO and an extra virgin olive oil labeled French Origin that represents the other growing regions (for example, the Var, the Alpes-Maritimes, the Languedoc-Roussillon). These oils are artisanal, and allow our olive-growing heritage to be safeguarded. Two flavored oils complete the collection, based on French olive oil: Herbes de Provence and Corsican Shrublands Herbs.
