1 2018 TRWC BOARD President s Message Summer greetings! As I write this, many of you have already signed up for our July 11th luncheon at Turtles. Our August luncheon will be at Cassariano Italian Eatery in Venice, and in September we will be back out to Miguel's on Siesta Key. If you are here in the summer months, we would love it if you joined us! Our board has been busy planning activities for the fall. We will have a speaker from Selah Freedom in October at our luncheon at University Park Country Club. In November we have a Fun Fashion Show planned at The Oaks Country Club. At this luncheon we will also have a clothing drive to benefit Selah Freedom, so start cleaning out those closets now! Board member Charlotte Jones has planned a fun outing for line dancing on Friday, October 5th from 5:30 to 8:30. Ken and Andrea Dulow took a cruise to Alaska June 1-8 on Celebrity Millennium Allan and Beryl Perry attended their grandson, Jack Edwin Perry s graduation from Westlake High School in Austin, Tx. He plans tocontinue his studies at Texas State in the Fall. Jeannette Hohmann was with her granddaughter, Libby at a family graduation celebration in Pat Bass with granddaughter Kate, great granddaughter Massachusetts in June. 6 Line Dancing Event! Friday, October McIntosh Rd. Sarasota, FL We have a reservation for a table for 20 people. The schedule is: Arrive around 5:30, eat, socialize, and drinks for 1 hour. Line dancing lesson starts at 6:30. 7 The Book Club will meet on July 18 at Millie s for a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Questions about the Book Club, call Sora Yelin at BOWLING GROUP The Bowling Group gathers at the Gulf Gate AMF Bowling Center on Rte. 41 (next to the Outback) Tuesdays at 1 p.m. It is open to all members and non-members alike. If you need more information, please call Karen Bradley at No Bunco in July due to folks being away. We will resume on August 15th. Bunco is played on the third Wednesday of each month from 6-8pm; bring a snack and $5.00 to play. RSVP needed-please reply to: Kathrin , BRIDGE PLAYERS Bridge is played at the Community Center on Tuesday and Friday. Those willing to be put on a Substitute List, please call Coordinators for availability. Tues: Charlotte Duplicate bridge at the CC on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Mary Ann This group meets on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. on the courts of the Community Center. For information on joining or general questions, please call Beryl Perry at MAH JONG Mah Jong is played at the Community Center for TRWC members on Monday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. Call Judy Bentz (412) or Mary Lou Thrush (704) for more info. Mah Jong will be taught to beginners and regular players can set their own tables. The time and place is ongoing for the entire year, so come and join us for a lot of fun! WATER AEROBICS Mary Ann Gates leads a group exercise at our community pool on Tuesday & Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Contact Mary Ann Gates at if you would like to join this group. KNITTING & NEEDLEWORK This group meets at members homes on the 2 nd & 4 th Wednesday of each month at 2 p.m. New members, including beginners, are always welcome. Call Edie Wolf at GOLF GROUP Golf at Village Green is suspended for the summer due to heat & humidity. We will restart in the fall. Call Sandee McCracken at with questions. AQUA Zumba classes are meeting at the Turtle Rock Community Pool on Monday at 9:30-10:30.
