1 Beta Sigma Phi 2019 Carolinas Convention, Columbia, SC April 26-28, 2019 The 2019 Carolinas Convention Committee of Columbia City Council invites you to Travel with Beta Sigma Phi to the Embassy Suites, 200 Stoneridge Dr., Columbia, SC Extended Ways & Means-open Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Shuttles available to downtown Columbia, Soda City (an open-air market), Riverbanks Zoo (approximately 1.5 miles away). Shopping, fun, pool, breakfast buffet, 2 free drinks every afternoon and appetizers --introducing our signature drink for the convention The Yellow Rose with or without thorns. On Friday Night, April 26, we will travel south for a Mexican Fiesta. Come dressed in your most authentic Mexican sombreros, ponchos, serapes, and pointy boots and enter our Costume Contest! Enjoy your favorite Mexican foods such as fajitas and margaritas, while we dance to great Latin and American music by the band Just Sweet Karma! The Queen invites you to join her for a Saturday luncheon on April 27 at the Royal Palace in London, England. Dress Smartly! Hats or fascinators are always in style with the Queen. Greetings from the Columbia Mayor, a fabulous guest speaker, and Alpha Omega Winners! Forums and the AO business meeting will follow the luncheon. Bonjour! Saturday night we travel to France and enjoy A Night in Paris. Dress in your most elegant evening attire with gloves. Dine to soothing Parisian melodies and then dance the night away under the stars of Paris. We end our travels on April 28 with a lovely luncheon in the New Orleans French Quarter. Dress in your Mardi Gras finest! Our International speaker will thrill us all. Winners of Ways & Means raffles and items will be announced by their names. In this Forum, sisters will learn how to search for the perfect item on ebay, how to negotiate a price and how to pay. Sisters will also learn the language and how to sell their own items as well. TBA Men s Events: Upon arrival, each man will receive a packet with driving instructions for the Columbiana Mall, Sandhill Mall, Sportsman s Warehouse, Palmetto Arms, Riverbanks Zoo, the State Museum, Cobblestone Park for Golf, US Army Basic Combat Training Museum and the SC Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum. The Columbia Art Museum currently hosts 2 Chihulys Chandeliers. Other points of Interest are the Congaree National Park, the State House, the Mills House, the Seibels House, and President Wilson s childhood home to name just a few.
