2 Case history: the Barolo & Friends Event The Consortium i Vini del Piemonte for years has organized in Copenhagen a promotional event named Barolo & Friends Event, which includes workshops for professionals, "walking tastings" for the paying public and several different side events, such as seminars, indepth workshops and dinners with producers The event, now in its seventh year, has become, over the years, the largest and most attended event dedicated to wine held in Denmark During the 2015 edition, there were some 30 wineries from Piedmont as well as various manufacturers of Italian food products, and it was attended by some 2,000 people including both professionals and wine lovers 2

3 Location Børsen Palace: The historical seat of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. In the first half of 1600, King Christian IV built it as the seat for international exchange. It was used for these purposes until the 19th century, while today it hosts meetings and private events and is one of the most prestigious locations in the Capital to organize events dedicated to wine. The seven editions of the Barolo and Friends Event and the first edition of Barolo & Brunello, the Italian Kings have all taken place inside this palace. 3

4 Event Programme November 20th, 2015 Walk Around Tasting (three sessions) 1st session: 13.00/ nd session: 15.30/ rd session: 18.30/ Brunello producers and 20 Barolo producers will present their best Docg wines in an event open to paying* final consumers and some sector representatives such as journalists, restaurateurs, sommeliers and importers (upon invitation) Food Area the traditional delicacies of Tuscany and Piedmont (*) 400 tickets available for each session. 5 In-depth seminars November 20th, 2015 In order to make the event even more innovative and experimental, three indepth seminars will be organized, with comparative tasting of the following wines: - Nebbiolo Barolo Barolo 2008 (or 2010) - Rosso di Montalcino Brunello Brunello Riserva

6 Promotion Promotional desk during the entire event with presentation of travel proposals and tourist packages Projection of striking pictures and videos of Piedmont and Tuscany: a great opportunity for tourist promotions for both regions The event is very innovative and has an original format: for this reason, the promotion may be more effective and direct than traditional tourism fairs or advertisements in the printed media. 6
