This program is funded by Ontario Seniors Community Grant Program, Ontario Ministry of Seniors Affairs.

7 October 2018 Update of Riverview Seniors Social Club Submitted by Heather Campbell The Riverview Seniors Social Club is a non-profit and volunteer driven organization working to enhance the quality of life, community participation and independence of seniors. Coming Events: Mark Your Calendar: For all those 50 years or over who enjoy singing, THE WHITEWATER SINGERS under the direction of Blaine Sack have resumed their Tuesday evening (7-8:30) sessions. There is no class on the last Tuesday of each month. New members are most welcome. There is no fee. Contact info: ; Cell This program is funded by Ontario Seniors Community Grant Program, Ontario Ministry of Seniors Affairs. Riverview Senior Social Club monthly business meetings are the 2 nd Wednesday of every month, starting at 11a.m. All members are encouraged to attend. The Paramedic Wellness Clinic (b.p.,heart rate, temp and pulse checked) and the Foot Care Service are available at 12:30 every 2 nd Wednesday of the month. The Wellness check is free. Foot care cost is $20. Call Laurene Blackwell ayt for more info. Monthly Community Soup and Sandwich Luncheons are the 3 rd Wednesday of every month, beginning at 12 noon. Cost is $8 As of September 12 th, Gentle Yoga classes, under the instruction of Megan Adams, have resumed from 9 to 10:30 every Wednesday morning at the Westmeath Recreation Centre. The cost is $50 for 7 sessions. Drop-in participants pay $12 for a session. Call Barb Bertrand at for more information or registration. RSSC is hosting the All Candidates Meeting, Wednesday, October 10, 7 to 9:30p.m. at the Westmeath Recreation Hall Dementia Friendly Community Training is offered Wednesday, October 24, 1-4:00 p.m. under the leadership of Caroline Brazeau Open to anyone in the Whitewater Region who wants to know about Alzheimer's and dementia and how to best support sufferers and their families. We want to build a community of friends around dementia. Dementia Friendly Communities reduces the stigma and provide an environment where people with dementia and caregivers are included, supported and can live well. If you wish to become a member of the RSSclub, please contact our Membership Chair, Connie Gray, at Cost $10. At the moment, we are hoping that one of our members will volunteer to fill the job of Trip Co-ordinator for this year. Taste of the Valley events introduce both visitors and local residents to the many unique agricultural products available in our region. Lion Dan & Lion Willi were at the Giant Tiger store in Pembroke, Saturday, selling raffle tickets! Our raffle is held each year and drawn in December just in time for Christmas. Tickets are available from any Lions member and these guys will be at Cobden Taste of the Valley.

13 LION ART PLUME Lion Art has been a member of the Beachburg Lions since Riding in the Canada Day Parade is only one of the many activities you can be sure he is involved with. Lion Art is the keeper of the canteen, ensuring it is stocked with everyone s favourite beverage and snack. He has served as President, Past President, 1st Year Director, Treasurer, Tail Twister, 1st Vice President, Membership chair, Zone Chair& Region Chair. He has chaired the Highway Cleanup & the Lions Bike-a-Thon. He is always ready to lend a hand. Lion Art is proud to display his Lionism wearing his vest and pins at every function.
