2 LOT #302 - Dalla Valle Vineyards 2011 Vintage One (1) Jeroboam (3L) Dalla Valle-Maya L The Dalla Valle vineyard proved its worth in the 2011 vintage, which was quite challenging in many parts of California. At several hundred feet above the valley floor, with a strict western exposure and very rocky soils, the vineyard literally stayed above the fray. The Maya blocks performed particularly well, delivering fruit with ripe tannins, aromatic intensity, and plenty of well-defined muscle. The final blend is 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 23% Cabernet Franc. Aromas and flavors of candied cherries, currant, black tea and cardamom come to the surface of this youthful wine. The mid-palate impression is generous, structured, and round, with bright red fruit and Asian spice flavors lingering on a very long finish.
