1 Loyal Order of Moose North Port Family Center Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL WOW, July has come and gone! So hard to believe that the year is half way gone. And what a July it was. I would like to thank all who came out for our expansion day of fun. I would like to thank all those who used their time to volunteer and make this possible. A special thanks to all who have donated to our expansion fund. A special shout out to Bill and Deb Humphreys for winning the 50/50 and for donating it back to the expansion fund. All total, we raised $2, that day. A special mention to our Anonymous man of the month for July: Larry Brown, way to go! Make sure you come out for our Queen of Hearts. The pot is growing. Nosh night, again, was a great night with great food and fun. Make sure you come out. It s a great way to meet new friends. Thank you to the WOTM for a great salad dinner. Don t forget to attend our district meeting on August 10 at noon in Port Charlotte. Until next month, have a great and safe August. Fraternally, Ken Lipp, Governor A Burden, heavy to one is borne lightly by many. August The Friendliest Lodge There Is Administrator s Message The heat is oppressive, the rains never seem to stop, and the grass will not stop growing, but the Lodge still continues to do its thing. We continue to work toward the completion of some of our summertime projects and prepare to the return of the cool weather (yeah, right!) and the snowbirds. We had functions last month that were notable: NOSH Night and the Kill the Keg Party. We were able with it, and the Mega 50/50 raffle, to collect just about enough for us to start the next phase of our Building Expansion, the deck. The door and window are done with the exception of the trim and drywall work (wait til you see this trim that was donated by Dino). Now we have to get the engineering done for the deck and get the work started on that. Once that is done, we go for the roof and enclosing the room and the whole project is a done deal! Many members have very graciously donated money and time for this project but we need YOU to join them in helping us out to Get Er Done. Congratulations to Bill Humphreys, our Man of the Month for August. Governor s Report Special thanks to Bill and Deb Humphreys. They were the winners of the Mega 50/50 and donated their half of the winnings back to the lodge. If you see them, make sure you thank them. The WOTM is collecting school supplies for children on August 3; and having an Academy of Friendship Ceremony on August 11; sponsoring a dinner on August 17; having an orientation on August 28. Come out and support them. Come out to the lodge, support our functions and the building expansion. Without the member s support, it is quite difficult, if not impossible, to see our dreams come true. If you have suggestions for events or comments on events, please let me know. Fraternally, Larry Brown - Administrator

9 9 Contributed to Lodge 764 Outdoor Patio Your Name Name Name Name in Memory If you ve been reading Pam s, Larry s and my articles the past few months, or simply visited the Lodge, you know we are expanding our building and now have a new door and window in the Social Quarters. The door leads to the patio, and that s where you, so to speak, come in. As you can see in the picture, the patio isn t there - yet. But we are asking for donations from the membership to get er done. To honor the membership's donations I will commission a plaque that identifies everyone who donates $100 or more. The amount of your donation won t be listed, but your name will be there so future members can see who helped grow our Lodge. We have the expansion plans being reviewed at City Hall right now and we expect approval any day. Which means your donations will be put to good use in the next few weeks as we begin construction. And if you want to donate but don t want your name on the plaque that s OK too, just give your check or cash to the Larry Brown, our Administrator. Any questions, talk to Jr. Governor Gene Herbst. Thanks, Ken Lipp, Governor We hope to see a large turnout at the Lodge Clean-up Day. There is truth in our motto: A burden, heavy to one is is borne lightly by many.
