We are proud of what we are doing, so let s have a good showing from our lodge. Meeting will start at 12:00 with lunch for those in attendance. We are still not doing as well as we can. We listed the number of members that have never signed a member and a few of you did in the past months. If you have never signed one help out by doing so and let s get us plus in membership again. I want to thank all that have so far this Moose year. Get busy and you can win cash. A drawing is held every quarter and Jesse Byrum won $40.00 on the last drawing. Social Quarter News..Business is great in our social quarters and we hope it continues. Do not forget we have pool, coin operated games and of course the pull tab machines. We have had lots of winners on our machines. Plenty of cold beverages and good food for sale; the food special for this month is: CRAB CAKE SANDWICH, SMALL FRY AND SODA/BEER FOR $8.00. The beer special for the 1-15 th is: MICHELOB ULTRA and st is: CORONA. Do not forget the game; you could pocket a little cash and help your lodge and chapter by playing. 4 Governor s Corner: Happy New Year to All!! Hope everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas. I would like to thank everyone who participated in and supported our First Annual Oyster Roast. It was a big success that wouldn t have happened without the help of many. A lot of fun was had by all and we gained a couple of new members as well. Don t forget our girls projects this month. The W.O.T.M. is sponsoring a chili cook-off on the 13 th and a BBQ on the 26 th. Check the calendar and come out and support our ladies. Don t forget our New Year s Eve dance; always a lot of fun and fellowship to be had. As always, God Bless Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Kevin Myrick, Governor W.O.T.M. Fundraiser: Do not forget the chili cook-off on January 13, from 2:00 5:00pm. We also have scheduled another entertainment event for that day. We have a one man band appearing during the same hours. He is Westside Smitty and has played in Hawaii and many other places. He can be seen by pulling up Westside Smitty on you tube. He plays rockabilly, blues and other styles of music; excellent on Johnny Cash. He is playing for free and will be making his money by tips. Come out and dance that Sunday afternoon away and support our girls. First W.O.T.M. Chili/Chowder Cook-off: WANTED: So, you think you make the best chili or chowder there is..here s your chance to prove it! On January 13 th the W.O.T.M. Chapter 1315 will hold the cook-off. Making your chili or chowder gives you entry into the cook-off!! It is open to all members and guests and is open to the public. Simply sign up with Susan Maybery to be a participant. Your admission is free!! Each person will have a station and you can decorate as you see fit. There will be a prize for the best decorated space. We will have prizes for the chili and chowder. Tickets will be $5.00 each for unlimited chili and chowder and all the fixings. We will have salad, cornbread, crackers, tea and desserts. 5 Senior Regent Corner: Congratulations to Kevin Myrick for winning the raffle basket at the WOTM Harvest Dance. Thank you everyone for supporting the Elvis Impersonator Event; fun was had by all! January is Sports/Activities month and chairman, Susan Maybery is planning a Chili Cook-off on January 13 th from 2:00 5:00pm. Volunteers will make their own chili to be judged by a panel of judges. After the contest, chili will be sold at $5.00 and crackers, salad, cornbread, desserts and tea will be provided by the W.O.T.M. Susan s jitney dinner will be held on January 14 th and will consist of Meatloaf, Fried chicken, Mashed potatoes, Corn and Rolls. Also, on the same day, one of our new members, Westside Smitty, will be providing the entertainment (Rockabilly Honky Tonk Roadhouse Blues). The general admission is $5.00 from 2:00 5:00pm. Please come out and support the W.O.T.M. and have a good time. On January 26 th Synde Terry will be sponsoring a BBQ take-out sale. A pound of BBQ (prepared by Charles Gregory) will be sold at $8.00.
