4 Most people function to the best of their ability, 9 times out of 10. Most people try to please and show kindness to others, 9 times out of 10. Most people are willing to lend a hand, 9 times out of 10. Did you know most people forget to be thankful, 9 times out of 10? If we spent more time just being thankful or appreciating, we may find that lending a hand, showing kindness and working to the best of our ability would be 10 out 10. I think most of us after a little while feel forgotten and tend to think of all those times we helped or tried and didn t receive a thanks or a best effort pat on the back and we stop. We stop trying our best and figure what s the point people don t care enough to be thankful, why care enough to try? This whole way of thinking causes a break down. A breakdown of loyalty, a breakdown of community, a breakdown of family. We can t wander the days looking for thanks. And we can t help or try only because we think we will be recognized. Do the right thing because YOU want to. Do the right thing because it will help someone else. Trying only because it makes YOU feel good is actually very selfish. Do the right thing because it will bring some ease to another, this is what brings redemption and brings back into your life those you wish to show loyalty and service to. To many times a person will try to make nice for people or try to make a change for others and the only thanks they get is why the act was not either performed sooner or why the act was not done differently. If we learn to be the kind of people that appreciate without a further expectation of difference all will feel justified. Appreciate thought and effort! With every effort there is change, with every change there is more effort. So this year when we consider the people that try to help our community, our lives, our way of life remember a few things. Remember they didn t put themselves out there to satisfy their own need they put themselves out there to help others. We are all human and 9 times out of 10 trying to do the right thing. Figure out who does the right thing to make things you need better and that s who your loyal to. Appreciate and be thankful of effort!
