Post event report from! The first international conference Best Stay Croatia was held in Opatija on 9 and 20 November 205.

2 Post event report from! The first international conference Best Stay Croatia was held in Opatija on 9 and 20 November 205. Throughout the two-day event, 237 people attended, from the hotel sector, private accommodation, marketing agencies, ICT experts, architects and interior designers. Participants in Opatija came from all parts of Croatia and the region, in order to participate at the conference which covered the key issues of quality and competitiveness in tourism. Main subjects emphasized the problem of seasonality, how to include the disadvantaged regions in the development of tourism, how to surpass the customer expectations, what it means to be a good host, aspects of design and architecture in providing an authentic experience and how to attract and retain guests. Topics that were of particular interest to the audience and specific for this event included case studies of award-winning hotels and apartments such as Valamar Riviera, Hotel Park Split, Hotel Vestibul Palace, Square Nine Hotel, Villa Barbara, Farm Stay Pirc, Studio Kairos, Maistra, Hotel Split, D-Resort Šibenik. In addition to the 0 panel discussions, many case studies and informal meetings, the conference adopted the innovative format, lightning talks, short two-minute presentations of innovative Croatian products. Attendees were also able to download the event app with all important and necessary information.
