1 January 2019 thenewscomer CITRUS NEWCOMERS CLUB Citrus County, Florida Naughty or Nice? Sometimes we forget how words or action can hurt or ruin a day. Have you gotten off the phone with a loved one saying, What did he or she mean by that remark? Or why did he or she do that? Those words or action then set the mood for the whole day, don t they? Besides dieting, my other New Year s resolution is to be nice to everyone or to simply follow that age-old rule of treating others as you want to be treated. Speaking of treating. I treated myself to everything I wanted this Christmas. I was like a little kid in a candy store and did not deprive myself of anything. Nor, did I deprive my loved ones. My family gave up gift giving years ago except for the children. Although my nieces and nephews exceed the so-called child age, I don t know about you, but at what age do I cut their envelopes off? And, if they get married, does their spouse then get an envelope? Confusing, huh? I do digress. This year, I was in such a giving mood, I sent cheese / fruit baskets to everyone in my family. I contributed to every child, pet and charity cause out there. Why? Because I am grateful for all that God has given me. So, this holiday no one was left out including the Church. If you were at the luncheon, you heard about the many baskets my husband bid on at the Church s silent auction. That is the last ball we attend as I cannot afford his generosity. Only kidding!! I hope you were not left out of our Christmas luncheon at Royal Oaks. It was incredible! All the ladies dressed up in their finery and holiday theme clothes. The food was delicious and the entertainment by Stan Prinston was great! In tradition, a gift was given to all the attending ladies. It was a fun day! I can t wait for our January birthday celebration. I know the ladies have some surprises in store for us. It is no surprise that the Newcomers Board outdid themselves in My special thanks to Sharon, Regina, Chris L, Bunny, Lisa, Dawn, Lynn, Bonnie, Pat, Bonnie, Nancy, Olga, Anne, Carolyn, Peg, Chris H, Jan, Pat T, Karol, Barbara, Sherry, Cathy, Nancy, Gail, Margaret, Cathy, Sue P, Sue F, Pat C., our Door Greeters & Seaters, Activity and Special Interest Committee Members, 50/50 ladies and to all the Newcomer Members. Thank you, thank you. I wish you all a Happy & Healthy New Year! See you in Mickey Murphy, President Michelemurphy1110@att.net 1
